KISS-IM-MEE 5k The KISS-IM-MEE 5k is on Saturday February 10, 2024. It includes the following events: Kiss-Im-Mee 5K, Kiss-Im-Mee 5k - Student, and Kiss-Im-Mee 5K - Virtual Run.
Today marks the 10th anniversary of the American Embassy /School incident where hundreds of protesters wielding petrol bombs, stones, and sticks overwhelmed security forces and ransacked the embassy and school.
The attackers inflicted millions of dollars of damage to the Embassy compound and burned more than 100 vehicles. At the American school, the attackers destroyed, looted, and burned books, musical instruments, and computers to educate young minds from more than 70 countries.
We were fortunate to have acted on time and only suffered property damage, but the mental impact lasted for years.
As a security professional, I learned so much that day and I will forever be grateful to our security team, all the helpful people at U.S. Department of State, Tunisian colleagues, and our fantastic community that helped us recover.
Here's to a safe school year for all the schools worldwide!

New Florida law (HB-1421) aims to improve school safety.
As a security professional, dad, and Floridian, I am glad our governor is providing much-needed leadership regarding .
The new law will focus on mental health and de-escalation training for safe-school officers which will hopefully make a difference in mitigating risks and PREVENTING future attacks.
It will NEVER be enough but we must NEVER stop protecting our kids!
