Big news in the design world today... Getty Images acquiring Shutterstock in a 3.7B deal - announced this morning. Will be interesting to see what happens to Shutterstock’s (relatively affordable) pricing. 🤔

New work alert!
Recently, I had the privilege of rebranding a historic landmark bed & breakfast in Gainesville, Florida. Sweetwater Branch Inn is a Victorian-era complex of mansions, circa 1885, that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Needing a refresh on their 40+ year old branding, they asked me to give it a modern update which maintained its rich history.
The new brand is now live, complete with a fresh new color palette, custom typography, all-new collateral — and more! Full case study coming soon...

Today Pantone announced their color of the year, PANTONE 13-1023 "Peach Fuzz".
In their words, they say "Peach Fuzz captures our desire to nurture ourselves and others. It's a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul."
Personally, I like the color and find it very calming. Better than some previous colors of the year. What are your thoughts?

Fun month-long promotion I concepted and designed. One of my favorite clients Kapow Noodle Bar wanted to do a month-long ramen noodle promotion, introducing new dishes each week. I came up with the Book of Noods "passport", which was a 16-page booklet with gold foil effects, red saddle stitching and a new dish on each page that had to get stamped with a custom rubber stamp for each dish you ate. The promotion was a huge success, generating tons of social interactions while accomplishing good R&D for my client on which dishes were the most popular. Full in-store menus and collateral to support the campaign, as well.
