Each Thanksgiving I am reminded of my blessings, and one that we share is the “small town” charm of Orange. The community we enjoy together is one where generations of families have placed their roots, where it is common to run into friends at the grocery store or downtown, and where cheering on our children amplifies our connection. That our community is such a wonderful place to live is a testament to our dedicated educators, our supportive families, and the talents of our students.

Yet, as we gather around our tables, let’s also offer our gratitude to those among us who may be experiencing challenges. Thanksgiving is also about extending a hand of kindness to others. With this spirit of compassion, we can strengthen the bonds that make Orange special.

I am thankful to each of you who contribute to our schools and our cities. Your kindness, involvement, and spirit make our slice of Orange County a place we are proud to call home. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. 🧡🍁

What a fantastic election for Orange Unified! It is wonderful that Trustees Ana Page, Stephen Glass, and Sara Pelly were elected to continue serving on the Orange Unified School District Board of Trustees. Matthew Thomas and I will join them and Trustees Kris Erickson and Andrea Yamasaki, as we step into this important role in mid-December. From the bottom of my heart, to those of you who encouraged me to step up and who have supported me in this journey, thank you for believing in me and for your commitment to our schools. Let’s now use our energy to lift up the students of OUSD! 📚

Along with members of the OUSD leadership team, I attended the Dia de Los Mu***os celebration at Jordan Academy today. It was moving to see the spirit and talent of the students there! Jordan shared this cultural tradition with student families and community members alike. As a trustee, I will work hard to foster inclusivity and honor all of the unique backgrounds that make OUSD shine bright. 💖✨

👻🎃Happy Halloween, everyone!🎃👻 We have had the best time trunk-or-treating this year and want to thank all of the incredible principals who open their schools for these events. Also, to the parents and teachers who pour such creativity and love into organizing the class parties, thank you! You are the backbone of our community, making these childhood moments fun and meaningful. Together, we are teaching our children the importance of connection, joy, and togetherness

Yesterday, I had the privilege of observing one of my Mt. SAC colleagues teach an American Sign Language 1 dual enrollment course. This experience was inspiring and highlights a remarkable opportunity for high school students. I am excited to foster the early college programs here in Orange Unified. These initiatives empower our high schoolers and open doors to their futures! 🧡
