Another 24in wooden Baby sign finished and delivered this week. This has an outdoor rustic feel to it. The sign was sanded, stained, painted, and then sprayed with a high quality sealer. This American flag was entirely hand-carved from wood using a router and a Kutzall burr, followed by a flap disc. After carving, it was carefully sanded, starting with an 80-grit disc and progressively working up to 220 grit for a smooth finish.
The stripes and the union (blue field) were precisely masked off with tape and stained using Unicorn Spit gel stain to achieve the rich red, white, and blue colors.
Finally, the piece was protected with four coats of Old Masters Ascend gloss, with a light sanding using 220-grit paper between each coat for a flawless, durable, high-sheen finish.

Finished a sign for our granddaughter and the other was an order for a baby shower gift. Both were made out of 24in round wooden plaques with added designs made from wood and all hand painted.
