... a great message from my Friends back home in Minneapolis.

Apologies that this statement is late in appearing. We've been stunned.

The execution-style murders and attempted fascist oppression in Minneapolis have us deeply unhappy. We condemn it in the strongest possible terms.

Renee Good was killed 700 meters from the house in which Paul and Kurt lived in 1984.

Alex Pretty was shot 1500 meters from the house in which 'What's On Your Mind?' was written.

Although we don't put a whole lot of importance on the political opinions of musicians, we do place a great deal of importance on speaking up as Minneapolitans.

Seeing our old neighborhood turned into another Tiananmen Square, Kent State, and Tahrir Square has been difficult to watch. But we are very proud of our city for standing up in the freezing cold and turning Minneapolis into Trump's Gettysburg. Proud that our home town is where the tide turned. Proud of the overly-nice, almost-all-white-crowds of Scandinavian sons-of-a-Gundersons who showed up day after day in the cold and made it clear that they were not going to be intimidated, or stand by politely while injustice was done. (We're polite, but not *that* polite.)
