I love hockey players that are eager to develop!

The issue I see the most of how segmented development is, everyone extra coach you have is adding their philosophy their “way” of doing things into your game, which isn’t a bad thing, but it does mean you’re being pulled in 6 different ways, hockey development works the best when there’s one system that overseas the complete development of the player, which is why they use that model at the junior college and professional levels!

If you want to know the biggest thing holding your development back

comment “diagnostic”

and I’ll send you the hockey diagnostic to diagnose what’s holding your game back!

Big goals require big commitment.

If your player wants to play AAA, juniors, college hockey, or beyond, you can’t only focus on what happens at practice.

Their training matters.
Their skill development matters.
Their hockey IQ matters.
Their mindset matters.
Their habits matter.
Their nutrition and recovery matter.
That’s why I believe in developing the complete hockey player, not just one piece of them.

Your goals and your daily habits have to match. 🏒
Which one made you cringe the most? 👇

AAA AGE OUT VS D1 PROSPECT

The biggest difference between D1 prospects and AAA age outs is their poise and decision making with the puck. If you only skate full speed with the puck you’re not allowing time for plays to develop

But you also need to know how to create value away from the hockey puck, taking defenders attention or skating into space that forces the other team to stretch their structure allows for open passes

You don’t need to have the puck on your stick to create scoring chances, you can sneak into high scoring areas when pucks get moves and players turn their head

You have to be alert to their blind spots and take advantage of it

Once you’re in the blind spot be ready for the pass and capitalize on it!

Do your moves have multiple layers of deception?

Or are you just hoping it works?

You can be deceptive with:

Eyes
Hips
Skates
Shoulders
Stick

But you have to pair it right to make a defender think you’re doing something different
