This book is not the first to prompt me to examine my own biases and role in fighting racism, but it's certainly the most effective. The author's use of evidence, personal stories, and tough questions has made me question my stances and consider new perspectives. If you're looking for a book that will gently yet firmly push you to confront your biases, this is a great choice.

Happy international Every Girl Wins day and World Sleep day
This is what “keep going” looks like.
1000 lb club — a milestone, not the destination.
Thousands of excuses made and overcome.
The climb continues. 🐺

I like to get flags of countries of people that have made an impact of my life. This doesn’t represent everyone, but it’s one of the things that makes this place feel like home.

My film ratings vs my actual favorites. Decided to wait until I saw Marty Supreme before finalizing my list

Today (technically yesterday, but who’s counting) starts my 4th year in LA. Can’t believe it’s only been 3 full years. Feels like a lifetime

Literally the only photo I could find of us.
Happy birthday to this Gem (yes, pun intended).
Happy birthday . I am so lucky that I met you. I am honored to share a birthday with you. You make life so much more enjoyable and help push me to be my best. I hope today is the best day ever.

Since my birthday is soon, and I consider that the middle of the movie release calendar, I wanted to share my list of favorite films this year. I started this tradition in 2018 when I tried to watch 365 films and opened myself to many genres and films I would never have seen before. I would love to continue the discussion of films in the comments
Note: I said FAVORITE film, not best film. Because for me, first viewing of (most) films is for enjoyment. I ask myself after each viewing A) how much did I enjoy myself? B) if I had to choose a movie to watch tomorrow, where does this fit in the hierarchy?

To the man that gave me my love of movies
To the man that gave me my love of Husker Football
To the man that gave me my work ethic
To the man that gave me my sense of humor
To the man that taught me how to treat women
To the man taught me accountability
To the man that makes me laugh with every art museum selfie you take
To the man who gave me everything to build the man I’ve become
I wish you the best birthday ever. I look up to you, want to become like you, and miss you every single day.
Hope Mom, Ghost and Gus make it the best day ever
I did not want to go to the gym today.
Mentally, I was in a hole. Couldn’t shake the fog, didn’t want to move, definitely didn’t feel like lifting. But I told myself: just get there. You don’t have to crush it. Just show up.
I dragged myself through the door.
I hit every set.
And by the end… I felt better.
Even got a compliment I didn’t see coming — a reminder that sometimes the wins show up after the choice to keep going.

Still deep in the work. Still rebuilding. But I showed up today — and that was enough.
Tried to find the groove today — that place where the movement feels right, the muscles fire, and the form holds.
Didn’t quite get there. Squats felt off. Step-ups were a battle. Lunges drained me.
Some reps were clean, others weren’t. But I showed up, gave what I had, and left knowing the only way this gets better… is by doing it again.
