Quiet Cricket Studio
We make soy candles with essential oils and other natural and nontoxic products for the body and home. Simple moments with plants.
Check out www.quietcricketstudio.com to learn more about why we do what we do. Our philosophy is poured into every piece we make. There are no synthetic or harsh ingredients, only those that are natural, plant-based, and responsibly sourced.

Another year down! It was such a good East Austin Studio Tour this year, and it was great seeing everyone who came to visit 🤗 As promised, Rhodes and his crew at .studio cranked out a lot of new furniture this year, so we were able to leave (most of) the furniture at our house in place! All of the pieces will be listed on the website for sale in a fancy new online store that I’m building this week.
It was great getting to set up with the talented ✨ Her beautiful paintings go so well with our furniture, and my favorite earrings come from her. We also got to meet who makes the most incredible pottery! This little bud vase is now on our coffee hutch and I’m stoked to have such a beautiful little moment to enjoy every morning.

Y’all I’m so excited about the Austin Studio Tour this year! Rhodes and his crew over at .studio have been cranking out some beautiful new furniture (read: we won’t be bringing all of the furniture from our house this year 😂) and there are so many other artisans that will be set up in the same collective warehouse ! I’m not making candles and what have you this year, but we’re thinking next year I’ll be back at it ✨
The east side portion of the tour is:

We’re doing something new! My partner Rhodes is a talented woodworker, and he makes both furniture and custom built in pieces. We’ve talked for a while about how those work together, and we’ve decided it’s time to separate them. He’s making furniture over at .hinman and custom built-ins at . I’m managing the mill work page, so come say hi if you’re interested in interior design or fancy woodworking ✨
This first project was designed by .whitworth and is absolutely gorgeous! The rest were Rhodes’ designs. He’s so good at details that make the pieces really high quality.

Pipevine Swallowtail on Aristolochia tomentosa 😍

Our Story
Quiet Cricket Studio founder Hannah Armstrong was raised in southern Louisiana, where she reveled in the outdoors. She traveled the western United States, working on a variety of permaculture and holistic farms. This inspired a deeper study into plants, and the ways in which people interact with them. Working with botanists, farmers, and makers of all sorts has given her a diverse base from which to grow her own practice.
Working with her hands has always been important, just as creating and playing have been. Combining her passions, the objects she’s created within Quiet Cricket Studio are all natural, responsibly sourced, and handcrafted.
Sustainability is key in our work. Many of our products are in direct response to the harsh synthetic chemicals found in everyday products. From petroleum based candles with lead wicks that release carcinogenic fumes, to aerosol canisters for dry shampoo that contribute to greenhouse gasses, we have to do better. It’s so simple. Simple ingredients. Natural. Quality.
We work hard to source the highest quality ingredients that have to travel the least distance to our studio. The soy wax used in our candles is grown in the Midwest. The jars are manufactured in Pennsylvania. Our shipping materials are frequently reclaimed, and always made with post-consumer paper.
