Weather Watch Oklahoma

Weather Update: Travel issues are likely for at least the northern half of the state.. Temps are dropping so fast that any precipitation we get is quickly sticking to everything including the roads. There will be several waves of precip move through the state starting now in northern Oklahoma then spreading south. The latest upper air data for the OKC/TULSA area is not supportive of snow at this time so look for freezing rain and sleet for the overnight hours then we may move to more of a snow event towards mid morning. I don't think any one area is going to receive a lot of accumulation but it will take very little to cause big travel issues with temps being well below freezing. This is a very tricky storm system so trying to be specific would be nothing more than throwing a dart to see where it lands. The trend as usual is higher amounts north then tapering off as you move south with central Oklahoma on the edge of heavy or light. COLD COLD COLD Sunday/Monday statewide.. I will update in the morning with real time info.. What have you guys seen so far? Include your town please..

A Winter Storm Warning has now been issued for Southwestern OK until 6pm where we could see a half a foot of snow! Let me know how much snow you are seeing! Please stay off the roads if at all possible. We will get another round of snow later this evening through early tomorrow morning. Our newscast starts at 8AM KFOR-TV. We have live crews out.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issue for our area tonight through early Saturday. Accumulating ice is possible. Downed power lines will be possible. A Wind Advisory is in effect for tonight as well. We will have wind chills as low as the single digits. Stay tuned for updates on !
