Sunrise accomplishes this through the creation and oversight of welcoming, inclusive summer day camps, year-round programs and in-hospital recreational programs, all offered free of charge. The third annual Camp Counselor Appreciation Day is coming up on July 14th, and we couldn’t be more excited!
This day, created by the Sunrise Association, recognizes the incredible camp counselors who pour their hearts into making summer safe, joyful, and meaningful for every camper. Let the countdown begin!

Our Story
The mission of the Sunrise Association is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings world-wide, through the creation of Sunrise Day Camps, Year-Round Programs and In-Hospital Recreational Activities, all offered free of charge.
All of Sunrise’s programs are made possible through the generosity of our donors. Multiple fundraisers, large and small, are held all year from elementary school bake sales to our record-breaking golf outing and our community-wide SunriseWALKS. The Sunrise Association is also fortunate in attracting a number of corporate partners who have made contributing to our unique programs an integral part of the corporate culture.
The Sunrise Association is dedicated to bringing back childhood to children around the world with our day camps, year-round programs and in-hospital programs. The Sunrise Association Day Camps bring the magic of childhood to eight camps worldwide. Currently, there are three in New York (Long Island, Pearl River and Staten Island), three camps in Israel, Horizon Day Camp in Baltimore, MD and Aurora Day Camp in Atlanta, GA opening June 2018.
