Today and every day, PRVN is proud of the projects we've completed that have resulted in improved energy efficiency and energy savings costs for our clients.

Thanks to a surge in COVID cases in December and January, PRVN celebrated Christmas in April this year. We enjoyed an Office-themed party at St. Burch Tavern in Iowa City, complete with fun quotes as décor and "Provee" awards handed out to employees.

On this , we're celebrating the engineers, designers, and administrative support staff who comprise the PRVN team. Thank you for all you do every day to keep our company running, and keep up the awesome work!

This new scanner helps make our work much more efficient and effective. Using this scanner, our team can take 3D scans for our clients much faster and more accurate than previous practices.

The pictures include the demolition of our client's existing turbine generator pedestals. These are connected to bedrock through a pile cap and drilled piers from the pile cap to bedrock. PRVN kept the pile cap, which was 3’ below the basement slab, and built the new pedestal from the existing pile cap.

PRVN was tasked with designing the replacement of turbine generators TG1 and TG5 with new turbine generators TG7 and TG8. TG1 and TG5 had a combined electrical power output of 6MW which will be increased to TG7 and TG8’s combined electrical power output of 15MW.

This project also included the installation of a new condenser for TG8, a reworking of the river water pump room, new river water control panels, and creating a detailed phasing plan to ensure that the plant would remain in operation during construction.

Helping our clients maintain reliable on-site power generation! We recently completed the replacement of a 30+ year old 3-cell cooling tower serving a condensing turbine. The new cooling towers provide the needed heat rejection using a fraction of the footprint of the old cells.

PRVN is currently working on a project that includes the installation of a 2,000 kW backup diesel engine generator set. The project also includes all necessary auxiliaries and synchronizing switchgear.

Construction is progressing on this project! The backup generator control panel is installed. The switchgear is set in place and the ductbank excavation is progressing.
