Last week I had the pleasure of playing for some Brazilian folks out for a farm tour at Cinnamon Ridge Dairy. Though little to no English was spoken (including the gentlemen singing with me here) we all connected through music. I had SO much fun and can't wait to do it again!!!

Online Farmers Market Pick-up Site Coming to North Liberty for June, July and August | City of North Liberty
While the North Liberty City Government wasn't able to support a farmer's market in the past, it is great to see the opportunity being made available through such a collaborative effort with a local nonprofit that has been doing good work in the community for so many years!

Dear fans of the market:
Fear not, the end has not yet come! While the market will remain shuttered this season, we have some great community organizers who have stepped forward with interest in continuing the market in 2019. We realize this lack of a market this year is a disappointment to all, and remain optimistic that this hiatus is a necessary growing pain to find a home for this market which will be better suited to operating the market with the primary goal of bringing local produce closer to those who need it and highlighting the local producers that make our market possible.
If you wish to see the market continue in 2019, please also reach out to your city government officials and let them know this market is a necessary part of this community! If this market were to disappear, North Liberty would be one of the few communities in the area without a local market option--something even most smaller towns present for their residents. Food security, local farmers, small business, and neighborhood support are all core ideas of our market and should also be ideals for any city government.
Thank you, again, for your continued support, your messages, the outpouring of love, and the ongoing feedback about the work we do. You all make this work possible and are the reason we keep coming back to making this market a reality--and we will be back in 2019, bigger and better than before.

A season in limbo | Solon Economist and North Liberty Leader
As we head into the month of July, we are still pursuing leads to find a community partnership to help bring the market and the local business opportunities to North Liberty. We were proud to present a space for local business, local musicians, and neighbors to come together, all in a financially sustainable model. If that is something you are passionate about, then remain hopeful that the market will return!
Thanks to the North Liberty Leader for covering our situation and, as highlighted in this story, if a farmers market is something you're passionate about having in North Liberty, contact your North Liberty City Government folks and let them know that local music, local business, and locally grown food is something you want to see supported!

The leaves are turning beautiful colors, and we're starting to get those crisp temperatures - it's time for our Halloween market! Penn Landing Market will host its LAST market of the season on Sunday so you can get your fill of dutch apple candies and that last-minute pumpkin. Plan to spend some time because Vandello will have you entertained the whole time.
Darn, the weather won't hold out for us tomorrow! There is no market this weekend, but check us out on the 22nd for our last farmer's market of the season.
