Alrighty! We have power, and we will have made up all the ice cream we lost during the storm, by the end of the nighttonight! We will be opening up Sunday at noon! Thank you to EVERYONE that has helped in getting power restored and to all of the community pulling together to help each other out! We are so grateful! ❤️❤️ There are still a lot of people out there with no power, no water, or no homes. Between the two shops we keep finding community groups that we can donate to and try to help. If you have time, a chainsaw, money, items that would help etc, please consider helping in whatever ways you can. If you can’t, just send out your love/prayers/energy (however you prefer to do it), to all those in need. If you are one of them, know that we care and are sending our love your way and trying to help in the ways we can! 😘😘 2020.... what a year....

Helloooo to all our North Liberty people! Our hearts are going out to you all dealing with everything that came with yesterday’s storm... We ourselves have been affected by the power outage too and will not be able to open for a few days as we wait for power to be restored, and can assess how much product we have lost and how quickly we can or can’t get back to making ice cream to replenish our stores loss. Please bear with us, and we will continue to keep you posted 🥰 Big shout out to EVERYONE out there that are working so hard to get our community back and running with power ❤️ We are so grateful for your hard work.

We have come to the decision that we will close starting Monday March 30th for many reasons, but overall safety for all is the biggest part. We hope to open again in a couple weeks around April 13th! ❤️ While we are closed, you will still be able to buy a few of our flavors in pints from DP Dough and Gumby’s!
Feel free to stock up over the next few days before we close up, through Chomp delivery or come to the store for carryout 😁❤️ Thank you all again! We are so unbelievably grateful for your love and support and we love you and support you right back!!

A Message to our Community about COVID-19

Hellooo to all our Heyn’s ice cream lovers!
We here at Heyn’s, know the questions that are on everyone’s minds in light of the challenges our community and the world are currently facing, and as always, our priorities are the health and happiness of our patrons and staff members. That is why, beginning today and until further notice, both Heyn’s Ice Cream locations will remain open exclusively for takeout and delivery ordering. CHOMP is the delivery service that we will be setting up in the next 24 hours. ❤️ They are currently offering no delivery charges by using the code THINKIOWACITY, until April 1st

For now we will be offering hard serve scoops in cups, pints, and half gallons; soft serve cups, scoops, pints, and half gallons; and ice cream sandwiches. This is to keep it simple, quick, and carryout, for everyone’s safety and ease 😁

We take these steps with everyone’s best interest in mind, and as the situation continues to unfold we will be evaluating daily, how to balance both the safety and satisfaction of our customers, in addition to the wellbeing of our employees. As long as our patrons continue to crave Heyn’s ice cream, we will do our best to safely provide it; only if it becomes evident that it is no longer safe to be serving our products — or if we are unable to continue to support our staff — will Heyn’s close its doors.
