Hello, the registration link on the website is from last week. How do I sign up for this week?? Thanks.
If we missed picking up our one time chance today for the week of frozen meals for our students, because we have to be at home with the kids while they learn and they are too young to leave, did we just miss it for the week? Just wondering, either way, as I did not see anywhere to contact anyone about it or any options for that kind of scenario. Thank you.
Hi am new here can anyone welcome any serious woman
I can't seem to find the menu for Octobers Lunch.. The link is broke.
Hello! Any idea when the October menus will be posted on the CCSD web page? We've got parents asking so they can plan their week. Thanks!

We here at Palmetto Ford And Lincoln are offering a Educators Appreciation Program which will give all school employees a $500.00 rebate towards the purchase of a new Ford or Lincoln. This is on top of all other rebates and discounts currently available. We also have rebates for all 1st Responders, military, college students and recent college graduates.
As a local my whole life, and now my kids in school, thank you everyone involved in the CCSD for everything you have done and continue to do for us.
Please reach out to me here at Palmetto Ford for any questions or help. I look forward to helping you

Please let's get our kids off to a great start with school foods.
"It's called school food. Like, that's weird," Giusti said. "It should just be food. A lot of the food that is served in a school would never be served anywhere else, and that's the unfortunate fact."
So Now I’d like to know what CCSD plans to do about their disgusting and irresponsible use of styrofoam in the schools?!?! CCSD Nutrition Services Charleston County School District

💚Check it out! CCSD's Registered Dietitian spent time with The Green Heart Project's 12 youth interns today discussing food labels!

💚We learned how to read the NEW food label

💚We learned the importance of the ingredient statement

💚We learned that we get to have the power to choose which foods we consume by comparing these labels and ingredients while shopping!

💚We also discussed the pathway to becoming a dietitian and the many career paths dietitians can take!

💚The Green Heart Project’s Youth Internship Program employs young people in the Charleston area to develop career preparedness and healthy living skills, promoting engaged citizenship through urban farming. This opportunity is more than just a job, it’s a way to give back to the community, spend time outside, make meaningful connections, and grow as an individual!

💚Thanks for having us The Green Heart Project!

Meet Anna and MaryGrace! We are MUSC dietetic interns and we are so excited to be rotating with CCSD for the two weeks! We look forward to learning more about school food service while working with the CCSD's registered dietitian, Kerrie Hollifield.

Hello! I'm MaryGrace and I graduated with my bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics from Auburn University in May 2020. I've learned so much through MUSC's dietetic internship and am excited to obtain my RD credentials in a few months. A fun fact about me: I have performed in 7 different states as part of the Auburn University Marching Band Danceline during my 4 years at Auburn!

Hi! My name is Anna Brown and I graduated from Texas Christian University with my bachelor's degree in Didactic Program in Dietetics in May 2020. During my junior year of college, I had an amazing opportunity to study abroad in Seville, Spain volunteering at an after-school lunch program preparing and serving meals to students. It was my first time traveling abroad and I loved it! My favorite thing about living in Charleston is going to the beach to watch the sunrise.

The Green Heart Project, a local nonprofit that provides Farm to School education, invites the community to join its 11th Annual Harvest Dinner on Thursday, May 13th at the new ½ acre Urban Farm at Enston Home (900 King Street).

The Harvest Dinner is a celebration of healthy food, education, and community, and is an opportunity to celebrate all of the hard work that Green Heart students put into their gardens during the school year.

In order to practice COVID-19 safety, guests will be invited to either drive through and pick up their dinner, or to mask up and walk through the Urban Farm to experience kid-friendly activities and entertainment, shop at the on-site farmer’s market stand, and pick up a delicious BBQ dinner to-go. We kindly ask our guests to carry out and enjoy their meals off-site.

Tickets to the event are $20 for adults, $10 for students, free for children under 2, and must be purchased in advance. All proceeds benefit The Green Heart Project's Farm to School programs. The ticket link and more information can be found on Green Heart’s website at www.greenheartsc.org. Green Heart students and families may be eligible for free tickets and an earlier pick-up time - please contact Allie Astor, [email protected] for more information.

For more information on how to get involved or sponsor the event, please contact Amanda Howell, [email protected].

[05/06/21]   CCSD Nutrition Services continues to overcome challenges in the food supply chain.

We wanted to communicate to you that we could potentially be running into shortages of some of our menu items over the next few weeks due to manufacturer and distributor shortages. But – we have a plan to carry on with our mission to serve quality meals to our students.

We're working closely with our food distributor and vendors to stay ahead of any shortages.

There will be some menu changes that we will update you about.

Please check with your student's school cafeteria about specific menu changes.

We appreciate all your support during this process.

We will never falter in our commitment and promise to serve delicious meals daily to our students.

And the best news of all is - USDA communicated last week, ALL students nationwide will continue to receive meals at NO COST through school year 2021-2022.

We look forward to serving you soon!
