Granite is a porous stone, which means it should be sealed to protect the integrity and natural beauty of this stone. If you aren't sure if your stone is sealed, you can drop a small amount of water on your stone. If the water forms droplets then your stone has an intact seal. If the water flows across your stone, it's best to schedule a professional to apply a sealant.

I know purchasing stone can be difficult. I needed countertops, as well as, a matching piece for my shower bench. Because I was working on two different time frames with my shower and cabinets, I needed my stone cut at two different times. Other stone companies were making it very difficult for me.
