HWC Custom Cabinetry

HWC Custom Cabinetry designs, manufactures, and installs fine European style cabinetry. We are seeking a Junior Designer to join our Design Team. The individual must be eager to begin utilizing their education to train under experienced designers and provide the team with administrative support. Our kitchen and bath designers work with clients, builders, and interior designers to create beautiful, functional cabinetry for single-family homes and multi-family units. They efficiently lead the client through the design process and create technical drawings for engineering to finalize for production. Attention to detail is crucial to assisting our designers in compiling information from client meetings, performing data entry, preparing estimates and proposals, and completing executable drawings.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Assist experienced designers with client meetings by setting up the showroom, preparing for the meetings as directed, and taking detailed notes

- Research accessories, unique material requests, and appliance specifications

- Utilize Custom Cabinet Estimator to prepare estimates based on project specifications and update after design revisions

- Perform data entry into Asana and Excel

- Utilize Cabinet Vision to create technical renderings

- Upon approval of final drawings, update CCE again by adding details such as surface hardware in preparation of final proposal

- Complete in person and telephone sales by making contacts and educating prospective clients about our design process

- Provide additional support to the design team as required

Qualifications:

- Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Windows, Office (Excel), Asana or similar project management software, and Cabinet Vision or comparable such as Revit, 2020, or Microvellum

- Experience or education in completing technical drawings
- Creative design skills with a sales focus to lead the client through the process

- A willingness to learn and support the manufacturing requirements, process, and limitations for projects

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with effective listening skills and social awareness

- Attention to detail

- Strong organizational skills

- Ability to perform accurate on-site measurements, often on construction sites, and incorporate into drawings; basic math skills are imperative

- Efficient time management; meeting deadlines is essential to project success

- Eagerness to learn and develop skills by supporting an experienced team, with an ability to adapt and change with a growing company

HWC Custom Cabinetry designs, manufactures, and installs fine European style cabinetry. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our growing team in an entry-level position as Jr. Drafter and Engineering Support. This role will support the Design Team and Engineer with ensuring jobs move from design to manufacturing successfully. The drafter will complete executable drawings utilizing Cabinet Vision design software and support engineering by reviewing drawings, specifications, and ordering material.

Responsibilities:

- Draft technical drawings for custom cabinetry

- Verify project specifications against drawings

- Confirm appliance fittings and specifications for the design

- Create a purchase list and order supplies for doors, drawers, and accessories

- Verify the design team drawings to prepare for CNC Router code and cut list

- Prepare assembly sheets

- Provide support for the design team and the production manager of the manufacturing facility

Qualifications:

- Cabinet Vision software experience preferred; or comparable drafting design software, i.e. Microvellum

- Possess detailed organizational skills

- Exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Manage time efficiently

- Ability to adjust to a changing environment

- Willingness to learn from an experienced team

- Good problem solving skills

- Be able to take accurate measurements and incorporate into drawings. Basic math skills are imperative.

- Demonstrate experience in Microsoft Office or Google Suite. Asana or similar project management software experience desired.

Hours: Mon-Thu, 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (10 hr shifts)
