Abandoned boats a problem in Charleston area

We really like working with #WoundedNature to help clean up our local waterways!

abcnews4.com Believe it or not, abandoned boats are a common sight in Lowcountry waterways. But removing a boat isn't like towing a car. Removing them isn’t easy, it’s quite a process. It’s one of the major missions for local non-profit Wounded Nature. “In the past two years, we’ve....

Cooper River Boatyard has initiated our Hurricane Haul Out protocols, so all other work has stopped while we focus on hauling out boats.

If you have a 2020 Hurricane Haul Contract, please contact us IMMEDIATELY at 843-554-7775 to schedule or decline your haul out.

Some people may ask why we start haul outs so early - there are a couple of reasons, but the primary reason is:

Once wind speeds reach 15 knots, we must shut down haul out operations, so time is of the essence. We cannot predict what Mother Nature may decide to do with this storm.

General information

Delivery Rates: A professional yacht delivery will need to be done by a professional qualified captain and crew. Never take any risk on giving the job to anyone who does not have the necessary experience and qualification to do it. As a boat owner you will find it very difficult to find the right person for the job going through the net. Too many unqualified and unprofessional people on the web unfortunately. References are always a good mean of understanding the guy is or not a good guy to give the job to, but even that will not be 100% sure. Do not try going cheap by employing a skipper based on a cheap quote or cheap rates on your yacht delivery. This may eventually result in losing your money and probably even worst your boat. Therefore, you are better of dealing with a good recognized yacht delivery captain that will take full responsibility. It’s always very difficult to provide a list of costs associated to any yacht delivery. We are dealing with many and different issues: How old is the boat The distance she will have to travel Which part of the world All this matters will need to be taken under consideration. However, we can easily say that our rates range between 2.15 usd per nautical mile to 2.65 usd per nm. This will include a Captain and any crew needed to help the delivery from start to finish. As far as yacht delivery costs are concerned then it gets more complicated and all mentioned before comes into place. We need to account for travel for all crew to and from the boat, fuel, marinas and ports, duties and tax (where it applies), canal passages, spares and parts to take care of engine while on the go, food on board, safety equipment for the voyage and also delays. You will find searching on the web skipper rates, and you will see that some of them will charge per day and their charges can go up to 500.00 usd per day, plus all expenses and all extra costs…. this is not our case. That is why we offer a per nautical mile option to our customers. Captain Hamilton Foster 843-77YACHT
