It's going to be a fall to remember!
π SAVE THE DATES! π
We have lots of opportunities coming up to get outside, look up, learn about astronomy, and enjoy the night sky! ππ
Go ahead and save these dates to your calendar, and watch for additional details as each event gets closer.
The Dark Sky Festival is not an SAS-hosted event, but shared as a community recommendation. π
Please note that our October monthly meeting will be held at the Brentwood library π instead of the usual Library Center.
Calling all local history buffs! π Weβve given our local history collection an upgrade. These books have been beautifully rebound with durable hardcovers, making them easier than ever to handle and enjoy.

Everything stopped on September 11, 2001. Whatever we were doing became trivial as we witnessed terror and devastation. Collectively we watched, we hurt, we feared, and swore we would never forget.
Libraries preserve these memories and build bridges across generations.
Whether you are looking to help a young reader make sense of what that day means to Americans or to honor those we lost, our library offers resources on 9/11 and its aftermath.
History can feel distant at times, but stories of first responders, survivors, and eyewitness accounts keep these memories alive. Our collection connects you with the stories of the people that we will not forget.
We've had a fantastic start to the Community Guest Reader series at our Nixa Family Storytimes! πβ¨ Thank you to all our wonderful participants and attendees. π It feels great to be part of such a supportive community. π We can't wait to see you at the next one! π
