A huge thank you to Sarah Hulsen with Christian County Library Ozark Branch for inviting us to do this fall classroom on Saturday. We had so much fun making fall floral arrangements in real pumpkins. So proud of all these ladies and their creations. Each of them created their own masterpiece design. Give them a thumbs up for taking on the challenge and executing with flair!

They add texture and dimension to make for a more interesting bouquet and have been so much fun in our fall arrangements.

Even our plants are ready for fall 🍁🫶🏻

What happens when we have flowers to short to use in a typical vase? You’re looking at it!

We are very careful with our product and work hard to ensure that we waste as little as possible. As long as a stem is still healthy and of good quality, we find a way to use it!

Sometimes flowers come in with broken stems, or we use up part of a bunch and the rest doesn’t work for what we need. Sometimes our own hands get clumsy and when combined with delicate flowers it isn’t the best outcome. BUT we always find a way to turn it into something beautiful!

Extra greens, broken stems, and leftovers are still as fresh and healthy as any other flower, so we utilize them by putting them in foam block inserts in vases or baskets! The foam is soaked with water to ensure they stay hydrated, and if watered frequently, they will last as long as any other arrangement! It’s a beautiful way to ensure that no flower gets left behind 🌿🌸

Here’s some helpful flower care tips for you to keep your blooms looking fresh!

Keeping flowers fresh in the heat can be tricky, but you can start off by misting the petals with water (and flower food if you have it on hand). The petals will absorb the water, keeping them vibrant and help them hold off from turning brown.

Changing water at least every other day is important as well! Rinse out your vase with warm water and fill it back up with cold water. This gets rid of bacteria that could hurt the flowers and gives them a fresh drink to cool off.

Before you put the flowers back in, clipping the very ends of the stems at an angle is a good idea. This reopens the end of the stem and allows as much water as possible to be absorbed.

Finally, keeping them cool is important. Keep them out of the direct sunlight, and if possible, store them in the fridge overnight to help them hold their shape and keep from going too limp too soon. This will help them stay firm and healthy.
