Updating my familiarity with Open Source groupware servers in response to a query by a client. It looks as if there are some good new options. SOGo looks good. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SOGo It should be fun to play with.

SOGo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia SOGo (formerly named Scalable OpenGroupware.org) is an Open Source collaborative software (groupware) server with a focus on simplicity and scalability. It is mostly written in Objective-C and makes uses of components like PostgreSQL, Apache, an IMAP server and more.

We were voted 2nd most popular computer repair business in the 2011 Newton Kansan Readers' Choice survey. Who'd a thunk?!!? I'm trying to find out which issue of the Kansan this appeared in. You'll see our appreciation ad in the weekend paper. Thanks, customers! Thanks, Vision Computers (for all the referrals)! Thanks, community! What amazes us about this designation is that our business is advertised almost exclusively through word of mouth. Wow.

Happiness is local economy love: trading computer repair for dolls, visiting with customers in our home while making lunch and washing dishes.

Good day in the shop, editing audio files with a customer alongside, attending a Ten Thousand Villages board meeting this evening.

At the end of April the next Long Term Support (LTS) version of Ubuntu Linux is due. I'm downloading the Beta 2 test version right now and plan to try it out this weekend. I'll post my experiences with it here in my Notes.
