We are geared towards keeping the campus community informed
and we hope to open up the perspectives of students on campus to become more aware about different cultures and to help them in the everyday melting pot campus society
+Provide up to date information of events on a consistent basis
+ Place a visual stamp on campus representing BC Plugged In as the “go to” for information
+ Promote the importance of being involved on the campus community
+ Expand the knowledge of the student body on the wide variety of clubs and organizations existing on campus
+ Relay any information needed to broaden a student’s college experience to more than just academic studies, i.e., specific events (thrown by clubs/organizations), students who are in need of connections relation to their major, etc.

This fall the office of Civic Engagement is hosting voter registrations tablings every Tuesday between September 9th and October 9th, and also on Thursday Sept. 11th. Volunteers wil be needed to registering students from the Brooklyn College community to vote. If you are interested, please email [email protected] or respond to this post. If you are looking to volunteer, the New Student Orientation will take place on Monday, August 18th, Tuesday, August 19th and Wednesday, August 20th for freshmen and Thursday, August 21st for transfers and graduate students.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER, there is one final training taking place this Wednesday, from 5-7.
Aside from that, if you are looking to volunteer ANYTIME THIS WEEK, we need some people to help make phone calls to the incoming freshmen and transfers. You can come in anytime between 9 and 5 this week and the hours will count towards your CCT and Serva.

I hope everyone's summer is going well. I am just reminding you guys that this Fall there will be a lot of volunteer opportunities, and we are excited to see you volunteering with us.
Remember any hours of service that you do can be documented on your Co-Curricular Transcript, which will help you show your involvement outside of academics, help you network and also develop yourself professionally and personally. This could also help you when your applying for grad school or jobs.
The hours also count towards your SERVA, which will be noted on your degree. All you need to do is complete 100 hours of community service between the Fall and Spring semester.
In sum, look out for the volunteer opportunities I will be post and please reach out if you have any questions!

This Friday, will be the New York City Council will hold its Fiscal 2015 Executive Budget Hearing for CUNY on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 10:00 am in the City Council Chambers, City Hall. This will be a joint hearing of the Council’s Finance and Higher Education Committees.
It is important that Brooklyn College Students come out to this so that we can get the school more funding and to see our elected officials in action! Please message me if you can attend.

The Brooklyn College Women's Soccer Team and the Women's Volleyball Team will be competing in CUNYAC Championships this weekend with free admission to all fans who would like to support the Bulldogs in action. The Women's Soccer Team will be participating in the CUNYAC Championship Final game vs. Staten Island at Brooklyn College Field, this Saturday, November 9th at 2 pm, with the winner going to the Division III NCAA Tournament. The Women's Volleyball Team will be playing in the CUNYAC Championship Semifinal Round vs. Baruch College on Friday, November 9th at Hunter College with a 4 pm start time. If they win, the Championship Final Match will take place four hours later, at 8 pm, also at Hunter College.
