NJ foster homes needed !!
Become a part of the AARR foster network

We were made aware of these 2 strays in East Rutherford, NJ. Contact was made with someone local to be on the lookout so we can go help catch. The major problem is finding placement. Our foster homes are full and have committed to do some boarding for a good portion of the summer.

Is anyone able to host one or both (once they are caught) for a couple months while we arrange vet care, have them spayed/neutered, and treated for any health issues? We provide all equipment and supplies. You provide space, time, love and salads.

Bergen or Hudson County preferred.

Solomon needs an interim foster home while his current caretakers travel this summer. Presently he is in Crown Heights, Brooklyn so if you live nearby, that would be most convenient, but of course we will consider other areas.

Dates:

June 30-July 13 (15 days)

July 30-August 9 (10 days)

If you can do 6.30 to 8.9 that would be great!!!

Or ideally, we would like to find his forever home!

Solomon (a/k/a Solly) started his life being passed around from one family to the next all while being kept in a very small cage with just barely enough room to lay down. He was getting no exercise at all and little to no attention. Lucky for him his most recent owners contacted us and we were able to place him in a foster home where he now awaits the new life he deserves.

His foster reports that hes a very curious guy who is loving his new freedom and ability to wander around. Hes affectionate and funny, absolutely loves being pet, and sometimes closes his eyes and looks like he might doze off when getting a massage.

He is not shy to explore every corner and roam around. He seems most relaxed when people are near. He is litter trained, very tidy with his eating, and not afraid to nudge you out of the way if he has someplace to go.

Solomon is about 2 years old and has been neutered.

Beane needs a new foster home.
Queens, western LI, Brooklyn, Manhattan or Bergen County preferred.

Beane is one of the cutest and youngest bunnies in the rescue right now. His mom was originally taken in by a local shelter after over 70 rabbits were discovered living in a small apartment. She gave birth a few days later and AARR stepped in to give mom and babies a quiet place to grow, away from the hustle and bustle of a busy shelter.

Beane is now old enough to be on his own and he is looking for his forever family. In the words of his foster, Beane is super social and friendly. For such a small guy, he is adventurous and confident. He loves to explore and does the best zoomies! He is great around people... loves pets, cuddles, and will give you back kisses in appreciation. Being very young, he will need to be housed in a pen to keep him safe and he will need to be supervised when allowed to explore.

***Full disclosure***
He has hit the phase of "hormonal teenager", when his hormones are causing him to exhibit less than gentlemanly behaviors. He is still learning to master the litter box, but once neutered that will improve. Beane is not yet old enough to be neutered but he will be in a month or so.

If you are patient and willing to put up with a little extra cleaning, it will be so worth it once he settles down and becomes a well mannered boy.

Here's what a little love has done for Suki.
These pics say it all.
The first 3 are what he looks like currently.
The video and the last 3 pics show his condition on the day he came into the care of AARR.

He was found by a family in Forest Park Queens early this year, totally emaciated with some serious wounds. He has since doubled in size, has been neutered, and is thriving health wise.

Suki has the biggest ears which go along with his big personality.
He is the sweetest, friendliest and most adventurous.

He is crazy about eating and will scarf up anything you give him. He will eat all sorts of greens and gets terribly excited at the prospect of pellets and treats.

He is energetic and loves attention and to be pet. He is interested in what you are doing and has even been known to jump into your lap. He goes about galloping but then comes back to report to you or check in. He's athletic and needs lots of space to run.

Suki may be a good bonding candidate for a spayed girl, as he has been friendly when near other rabbits in his foster home.

Meet Kiki!

She was rescued from an outdoor living situation where over a dozen rabbits were wandering around a Suffolk County neighborhood.

Kiki is very sweet and just so happy she is finally safe. She loves her new healthy diet of fresh hay, pellets and yummy greens. She gobbles them up with delight. She has been spayed and is great about using her litter box.

Kiki is also learning the pleasure that human attention can bring, something she likely never experienced before. She has a calm personality and is cautious but not afraid. She will accept pets when approached slowly.

Kiki is looking for her new forever home where she can be spoiled like the queen she was meant to be.

If you would like to give her that chance please send us an email at [email protected]

Adopted!!!
Bolt has found his home with a bonded partner, who also happens to be an AARR alum.

His adopter writes,
"Almost two weeks after adopting Bolt, I wanted to give an update as to how he’s doing. He’s now mainly referred to as “Bo” or “Bobo, the clown” when he’s being especially cheeky.

He immediately made himself at home and was fully bonded to my other rabbit, Bonnie, within a week. The two have been great together - sharing their meals and toys - and they love a good snooze under the air conditioner.

Thank you for allowing us to add Bo to our family. He’s added some excitement to the apartment!"

Congratulations to Bo, Bonnie and their human.
