In Nimble Fitness our initial level of nutrition coaching is about foundation principles that are agreed upon with most nutritionists out there. Yes, the nutrition war is real and you see people contradicting one another and fighting all the time.
Here is what we coaching.
-Look at your nutrition holistically and that it’s integrated with how you move, sleep, function and look.
-It’s about your relationship with food. How you eat, what you eat, why you eat it and when you eat.
-EAT WHOLE FOODS
-CHEW THEM WELL
-BE MINDFUL OF VOLUME. (This is over simplifying it but if we want to lose weight we need to be at a caloric deficit and if we want to build muscle it’s beneficial to meet or slightly exceed our caloric intake.)
What we have found in our twenty five years of coaching clients, is that most people are not doing the basics. Whether you’re plant based or an omnivore, it’s vital to eat fruits and vegetables. The same is true with getting enough protein in our diet to maintain our lean muscle mass.
Life begets life but what we have found is there is no one way to approach your nutrition. We have seen sick vegetarians and sick omnivores. We have seen vegetarians with great blood work and some with poor blood work. The same is true for the omnivorous. What we believe is the one of the best nutrition practices is to be mindful of what we are drinking and eating and why. Then asking the question, does this specific thing I’m ingesting leave me with the results that I truly desire for myself. Some of those results are having better digestion, improved energy, feeling better and ultimately looking better without clothes on.
We coach clients to approach their personal nutrition with curiosity and courage. To find the highest quality food that you can afford and shake the hand of the farmer when possible. We are all in the never ending school of nutrition until the day we leave our bodies. Best of luck in your explanation!

TRAIN-CHALLENGE-REPEAT
What does it take to make exercise part of your life and adopting a training mindset? Getting to your WHY is the difference maker for many of our Nimble clients. This is a picture from a clients recent trip to the Antarctic. One of the biggest WHYs we hear in our coaching sessions after overall health and wellbeing, is LIFE EXPERIENCE.

At Nimble Fitness, we know that effective goal-setting is one of the best tools you can use in improving adherence to your training program. We like to use the SMART acronym to achieve success in training.
Being SMART means really considering your goals ahead of time and successfully integrating those goals into your health and fitness regimen.

New design for our downstairs studio. We put down some rouge black turf and added the squat rack. It’s always good to do a little spring cleaning. Well, it was spring last week, now back to winter for a couple week. The temperature doesn’t matter, the fact that you got your training in does! It’s a non-negotiable.

Watch how fast these women run by and how most have their mouth closed. On your next run or workout, try training with your mouth closed and while staying all nasal. By doing so, you will be raising CO2 and harnessing NO. Try to maintain a light, low and slow breath cadence, even as intensity increases. Both CO2 and NO help liberate oxygen from hemoglobin. If you’re a mouth breather and have a high sensitivity to CO2, you might find this extremely challenging at first. If that’s the case, simply warm up slow and stay nasal as long as possible. As your muscles heat up, CO2 is released and it takes time to become less sensitive to it but as you elevate your BOLT SCORE(body oxygen level test). Almost everything you do in your life will become easier and your VO2 max will increase. This is the result of having more oxygen being liberated from the red blood cells during sport or while chilling around the house.
