Those days are not over! Many boilers out there are still fired with coal and wood. Here are some interesting images we pulled from old literature.

We still make em', cast iron boiler grates. We designed these grates for a Wood-Fired Smith 450 Mills Boiler. The plans were drawn up in the 50's by the previous owner of Oswald Supply, Harold Oswald. These ones are being shipped up to a prison in Vermont.
