Obviously, everyone is built differently and has different levels of tolerance to the heat, but there’s a point when you just need to balance the risks.

✨You owe it to yourself to become everything you have the right to be.
made this image using the last two photos in this carousel as inspiration, and it brought me to tears… because there’s a lot to unpack in that image.
I’ve lived many lives in a relatively short time. Too fast. Too intense. Too many twists and turns. A roller coaster that never seems to stop.
I’ve had to start over more times than I can count. New countries. New careers. New dreams. New versions of myself.
And if I’m honest, that constant reinvention gets exhausting. Every birthday seems to come with the same question: “What have I done with my life?”
Then I look at this little girl and think: “Well, sweetheart… this, whatever it is, is what you’ve become.”
The backdrop stopped me too. It reminded me of the narrow streets of Ciudad Bolívar, my grandmother’s hometown. She was the reason I returned to Venezuela one last time in 2010, when she passed away.
I never went back.
Maybe that’s why this image hit so hard. Because somehow it captures where I came from, the people who shaped me, the roads I’ve traveled, and the woman I’m still becoming.
And for the first time in a long time, instead of focusing on all the things I haven’t done, I’m trying to appreciate just how far that little girl has come.

🤕Every injured runner thinks they’re the exception… until the body says no.
I know because I’ve been in every single one of these stages.
The “it’s just a niggle” stage.
The angry stage.
The bargaining stage where you convince yourself easy miles don’t count.
The identity crisis stage where you wonder who you are without running.
And eventually, the stage that changes everything:

Not with pretending you’re fine. Not with forcing your body to keep up with your race calendar. Not with toxic positivity and “just stay strong” quotes.
