Is Final Fantasy VII the best PS1 game of all time?

25 years ago, Square introduced the world to Cloud Strife, a former soldier who turned against the Shinra Electric Power Company to save his world from devastation. Alongside Barret, Tifa, and Aerith, Cloud became the face of a revolution and one of the faces of Sony’s Playstation console. Final Fantasy VII went on to become a blockbuster critical and commercial success, selling over 13 million copies worldwide.

Today, Final Fantasy VII is considered one of the crown jewels of the FF franchise and Cloud has become one of the most beloved video game characters ever created. And while millions of copies of the original FFVII were released, the game still demands a considerable price on the secondary market and finding a sealed copy is no easy feat (since everybody was too busy playing it). Our current Event Auction has a WATA graded 9.6 copy of Final Fantasy VII, and many more classic video games, in listings running through March 19. Don’t miss out on your chance to own a high-grade copy of this iconic game. Good luck!

Moon Knight’s first fight!🌙

Before Marc Spector became a star in his own right, he was slugging it out in the pages of Werewolf by Night #32. From the start, fans gravitated to the character and were enamored by the Fist of Khonshu, giving Marvel the confidence to position him as the star of his own series. In the decades since, Moon Knight has become a cult-favorite character, known for his unique attire, psychology, and horrific adventures.

Now, Moon Knight is set to become a leading man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Played by Oscar Issac, the character will be coming to Disney+ later this month. But, of course, there’s no Moon Knight without the work of Doug Moench, Don Perlin, Howie Perlin, Gil Kane, and Al Milgrom on the character’s first appearance comic. Our current Event Auction has a CGC 9.8 of this issue, tied for the highest grade ever, which will be ending later tonight. Don’t miss your chance to own this book before Moon Knight’s popularity explodes even further. Good luck!

Is Joe Burrow the future face of the NFL? 🐅

He’s young, he’s talented, and he’s already been to the Super Bowl. Only two seasons into his NFL career, Joe Burrow is one of the biggest names in the sport. And though Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals came up short at Super Bowl XXIII, many suspect that they’ll be back in contention yet again in the year ahead.

As one of the fastest rising stars on the planet, collectibles tied to Burrow’s name are amongst the most desirable investment pieces around. Our current Event Auction has a truly remarkable piece, a Gem Mint 10 Rookie Ticket auto numbered 1/10 from Panini. Compounding Burrow’s value with the huge spike in trading card values over the last few years, this card is an easy touchdown. Find this and other high-end cards on ComicConnect in listings running through March 19. Good luck!

The Marvel Universe starts HERE!

In 1939, a small publisher, then-known as Timely Comics, made a historic leap forward with the release of Marvel Comics #1. The issue introduced Namor The Submariner, The Human Torch, and a wealth of costumed crime-fighters who would collectively form the foundation for an interconnected line of superhero titles. Now, over 80 years later, the Marvel Universe has become a pop culture phenomenon, dominating comics, film, television, video games, and everything in between.

While any copy of Marvel Comics #1 is a worthwhile investment, our current Event Auction has something even better - the specific copy used by Lloyd Jacquet to note the pay of the book's creators, Frank R. Paul, Carl Burgos, and iconic artist Bill Everett, amongst others. The notes, which are written in pencil, can be seen on the book's cover and make this item truly, one-of-a-kind. There’s still time left for this incredible piece of Marvel history, so don’t hesitate - go to ComicConnect and place your bids tonight. Good luck!

The original Ghost Rider!

Long before Johnny Blaze became the Spirit of Vengeance, Ray Krank and Dick Ayes introduced the world to Rex Fury in the pages of Tim Holt #6. At first, the character ran wild throughout the West as the Calico Kid before changing his name to the iconic moniker Ghost Rider in Tim Holt #11. For years, Ghost Rider was one of the premiere Western heroes, captivating fans with his outrageous adventures and firm grasp on justice.

Years later, when Dick Ayers ventured over to Marvel Comics, he brought with him the name Ghost Rider and the core design elements of the character. Later still, these elements would be folded into the character Carter Slade, Marvel’s Phantom Rider, uniting the Golden Age Ghost Rider with Marvel’s tapestry of heroes. Our current Event Auction has multiple keys from the original Tim Holt series signed by Ayers, including both the first appearance of the Calico Kid and Ghost Rider himself. Visit ComicConnect now and place your bids before these keys ride into the sunset!

A rare, football holy grail! 🏈

In the early days of sports video games, the idea of playing as your favorite athletes seemed like a pipe dream. Instead of playing as a top star, gamers had to settle for lookalikes and characters who looked like the greats but weren’t actually that great themselves. That all changed with Tecmo Bowl, the revolutionary football title that changed the course of video game history.

Our current Event Auction has a VGA Graded 85, NM+ of the first print of Tecmo Bowl available to own. This rare game is a first printing, as noted by the placement of the seal and the distinct NFL logo appearing on the left-hand side of the box (it would be moved to the right in later editions). As an important piece of video game history, we know that this game is a smart investment for gamers and collectors alike. Find this and other great items on ComicConnect, in listings running through March 19. Good luck!

TV on video!

Sure, movies are great, but for millions of children, it was more important to catch the latest episode of their favorite cartoon series. But in a world before streaming, there was no way to control what episodes you actually got to watch and when you’d get to see them. That is, unless you had some handy-dandy VHS tapes.

Countless childhood classics were ported over to VHS, one episode at a time, giving kids a chance to watch their favorite episodes over and over. Of course, because these tapes were intended for children, it’s tough to track down original VHS tapes of treasured childhood classics like Pokémon, X-Men Evolution, or even the fabled Captain N: The Game Master. Luckily, our current Event Auction has graded copies of many of these hits, as well as plenty of other VHS classics, in listings running through March 19. Be sure to check them out before it’s too late. Good luck!

Baseball classics!

In the early days of video games, baseball games were a home run. Offering fans a way to enjoy the experience of the greatest game ever played all year-round, these games pioneered new genres and helped develop many technologies that are still in place today. Games like Tecmo Baseball, Bad News Baseball, and the Bases Loaded series were staples of any baseball-enthusiasts game library.

Today, these iconic games are physical representations of the history of video games and have become highly sought after. Our current Event Auction has multiple graded video games available, including a WATA 9.8 Bases Loaded 4 and a WATA 9.6 Tecmo Baseball, both of which are the highest graded copies on the WATA census! Find these and more items available on ComicConnect in listings running through March 19. Good luck!

Daredevil never looked better!

Following the rousing receptions of Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four, and The Avengers, Daredevil #1 saw Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Bill Everett came together to introduce another superhero sensation, The Man Without Fear! At the same time, this issue introduced two of the most important characters in Matt Murdock's life, business partner Foggy Nelson and on-again, off-again love-interest Karen Page.

Today, Daredevil is a household name and on the tip of everybody’s tongue. Actor Charlie Cox recently appeared as the character in Spider-Man: No Way Home and the Netflix Daredevil series was just added to Disney+, teasing that more is on the way. As such, this key comic is a smart investment for collectors to follow, as it’s likely that Daredevil’s stock is on the rise once more. Our current Event Auction has a CGC graded 9.0 edition of Daredevil #1 ending today, so don’t hesitate - bid without fear! Good luck!

Is Kobe Bryant the greatest basketball player of all time?

For 20 years, Kobe Bryant was more than just the face of the Los Angeles Lakers - he was the face of basketball. Widely considered one of the greatest players to ever get on the court, Bryant’s career accolades speak for themselves. And though he tragically passed away in 2020, Black Mamba’s legacy will live on forever.

As one of the most popular athletes of his generation, Bryant was subject to literally hundreds of basketball cards. However, some cards are a cut above the rest. Our current Event Auction has one such card, the 2003 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Kobe Bryant Autograph card. This high-end item has been graded as a Gem Mint 9.5 by Beckett and is a pop 1 of 1, making it an incredible piece for any collector, and a smart investment. Find this and other premium items on ComicConnect now, with listings running through March 19. Good luck!

In 1940, Fawcett Publications introduced the world to Billy Batson, a young boy who could become a superpowered hero by yelling the magical word SHAZAM! Known by the alias Captain Marvel, this new hero became a runaway sensation and one of the breakout hits of the era. And though Fawcett Publications was eventually bought out by DC Comics and the Big Red Cheese was renamed SHAZAM, the endlessly endearing character has remained a fixture of pop culture.

Today, SHAZAM is a household name. With multiple appearances across film, television, animation, and video games, there’s no telling how big the character will become. In 2022 alone he is set to star in his second film and potentially appear in Black Adam, which itself spins out of SHAZAM’s original comics. Our current Event Auction has a CGC graded copy of Whiz Comics #2 (#1), the book that introduced the hero, and we have high expectations for this incredibly rare issue. Be sure to take a look at this and all of our listings, which run through March 19. Good luck!

One of the greatest fighters ever!

Tekken changed the game. As one of the first fighting games to make it big, Tekken influenced generations of players with its intuitive gameplay, memorable characters, and groundbreaking graphics. To this day, it remains a popular series with regular installments and frequent additions to the ever-expanding franchise.

Due to its incredible influence on the genre, Tekken is one of the most highly-demanded fighting games of all time. Our current Event Auction has a WATA 9.4 Longbox edition of the original Tekken. This rare game is one of only three on WATA’s census and would make a mighty trophy for any video game collector. Find this and other premium items on ComicConnect now, with listings running through March 19. Good luck!

What was your favorite Disney VHS?

For many, being a kid meant building up an epic library of Disney movies on VHS. Commonly sold in over-sized plastic cases, these films were prized possessions for millions of young viewers, who watched the tapes to the point where they’d wear thin. And though Disney+ has made owning a physical video player a thing of the past, these treasured trinkets have taken on a new life as a collectible way to encapsulate the joy of being a kid.

Our current Event Auction has tons of graded VHS classics, including a plethora of Disney hits. Movies like Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves look stunning in the beautiful acrylic casing of companies like VHSDNA. Find these and more timeless classics, along with all our other listings, on ComicConnect in auctions running through March 19. Good luck!

A TMNT holy grail!

Shortly before Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird created the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, they released Gobbledygook #1. This self-printed book was limited to less than a hundred copies and featured an advertisement for the eventual TMNT series. At the same time, it introduced the Fugitoid, an android hero who would become a crucial part of the TMNT franchise.

As the first book published by Mirage Studios, and an extremely limited one at that, Gobbledygook #1 is highly coveted by fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. Our current Event Auction has a CGC signature series copy of the book that has been remarked by Eastman with a Turtle drawing on the back of the book, adding extra value to this already important piece of TMNT history. Find this and other listings running through March 19, on ComicConnect. Good luck!

All hail the King!

When it comes to all-time basketball greats, few compare to LeBron James. Drafted to the NBA straight out of high school, LeBron made immediate shockwaves when he was named the 2004 Rookie of the Year and made the NBA All-Rookie Team. In the years since, LeBron has accumulated countless awards and accolades, including four NBA titles, four Finals MVP awards, and 17 outings as an NBA All-Star.

As one of the most decorated basketball players of all time, everything related to King James is in-demand from a feverish fanbase. Our current Event Auction has two editions of LeBron’s Topps Chrome Rookie card, in both the standard edition and X-Fractors parallel. Find these and other listings running through March 19, on ComicConnect. Good luck!

An iconic first appearance!

In Amazing Spider-Man #129, Gerry Conway, Ross Andru, and John Romita introduced the world to the Punisher, a vigilante who crossed paths with Spidey. The character’s dynamic design and intriguing story made him an early favorite with fans and led to future appearances across the Marvel Universe, before ultimately obtaining his own series. In the decades since, Frank Castle has become one of the publisher’s most popular characters, living on to this very day.

Of course, a huge part of the Punisher’s early success is the outstanding quality of his debut. Gil Kane and Romita’s cover has become one of the most well-known images in Marvel history and remains one of the most highly-coveted comics of Marvel’s Bronze Age. Our current Event Auction includes multiple copies of this vital key, including a CGC graded 9.8, the best known copy of this book on the census. Our Amazing Spider-Man listings will be ending tonight, so be sure to bid now before you miss out on this incredible book. Good luck!
