Hey purple family...just shy of 6 months until Princefest, and we're getting excited๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ Just a reminder that our dear friend and artist, Moises Suriel, will be unveiling his newest artistic masterpiece at the event inside Turner Hall, New Ulm, at 3:00pm, April 20th, 2024๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Moises has been an integral part of Prince Legacy Project since his beautiful "Red Corvette" mural was painted on the wall of "The Healing Hub".

The concept art for "The Prince Bronze Statue" was his next art contribution, along with many hours of reviewing and reworking during the long process to completion.

Once items were relocated indoors, a new mural, "Purple Rain", was commissioned, and once again, the finished art was spectacular๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Moises' final piece of commissioned art, "Eyes", soon joined "The Prince Memorial" in it's new and final location at "The Minnesota Music Hall of Fame" in New Ulm๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Prince Legacy Project looks forward to the official unveiling and hopes to see many of those that are featured on the Moises 8' x 8' "Face" mural at Princefest in 2024๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Many thanks to all involved...it was a beautiful day๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Jimmy Steinfeldt, who began his photography career in his native Minneapolis before moving and working for 30 years in Los Angeles, visited The Prince Memorial at the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame on Thursday. He is a renowned artist-musician photographer and a long time friend of Joel. He graciously presented a copy of his book, "Rock 'N' Roll Lens", along with an autographed photo of Prince, to Prince Legacy Project and the Music Hall of Fame for display.

Two very special, lovely ladies came to The MN Music Hall of Fame, New Ulm, today๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ. Ursula from Amsterdam and Rita from The Netherlands traveled the extra miles to take in the beauty of The Prince Memorial, the Guitar Sculpture, and visit with Joel. Prince brings family together from all over the world๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Joel welcomed approximately 23 visitors who took the time to come to see The Prince Memorial and MN Music Hall of Fame today. Many states were represented...here are just a few (names in captions). Still 2 days to visit..hours are 10am to 2 pm๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

With the hustle of moving, placing and arranging of all the items for The Prince Memorial in The MN Music Hall of Fame; then the new Tribute Motorcycle and the installation of the Guitar Sculpture, the beautiful Prince Bronze Statue has taken a back seat to the newest items.

Prince Legacy Project would like to take this opportunity to feature the Prince statue since Prince is the reason for all that has happened, has made all this possible, and is the reason for this week's celebration๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

06/03/2023

Carolyn and Carmen, from Prince Army Indiana, stopped by The MN Music Hall of Fame, New Ulm, today. They visited with Joel at The Prince Memorial and Guitar Sculpture๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ.

Photos from Prince Legacy Project's post 05/28/2023

In anticipation of the influx of Prince Fams in the next few weeks, final additions and rearrangments were completed today at The Prince Memorial. These included the placement of the "Prince Eyes" mural by Moises Suriel and the hanging of the final two note panels๐Ÿ’œ

The Prince Memorial, along with the Guitar Sculpture, at The Minnesota Music Hall of Fame are ready and waiting for what will surely be a trip worth making for Minnesota residents and Prince aficionados alike๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

The Prince Legacy will continues in its search for additional items to add in promoting the legacy of Prince Rogers Nelson๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

As promised, here are two pictures of the Guitar Sculpture plaque. The first is as it is framed at the sculpture. As you can see, the sun flare makes it difficult to photograph. The second is a photo taken indoors without the frame...much easier to read๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Prince Legacy Project extends our sincere appreciation to all the listed donors...we could not have succeeded without your continued support๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

The long awaited and highly anticipated event happened today....the Purple Guitar Sculpture by artist Jefferson Davis is installed at its permanent location๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

The placement went smoothly, along with the donor plaque, and is a superb addition to The Minnesota Music Hall of Fame exterior.

Prince Legacy Project invites all to New Ulm to enjoy this beautiful homage to Prince๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Photos from Prince Legacy Project's post 05/21/2023

Prince Legacy Project would like to introduce their newest addition to The Prince Memorial at The Minnesota Music Hall of Fame....an Authentic Purple Rain Tribute Motorcycle๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ. This was made possible through a grant from The Verna and Carl Schmidt Foundation, which has supported us through many projects and whom we consider friends๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Meticulously created by Ben Menth, it is the final one to be built. Ben also created the ones for both Dave Chappell and First Avenue๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

The new motorcycle replaced the previous one on display which will be turned back over to its owners, Kim "Lips" Bartell and Boulos Abou.

Prince Legacy Project continues to add to the memory of and supports the legacy of Prince Rogers Nelson๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Also, a panel of the donated musical notes was placed beneath the granite bench๐Ÿ’œ

Prince Garden Henderson

Prince is a Minnesota legend, and the famous musician has ties to Henderson as the โ€œThat Ainโ€™t Lake Minnetonkaโ€ scene in Purple Rain was filmed just outside of town. The road into town is also the tree-filled backdrop in the โ€œTake Me With Uโ€ sequence of the movie.

Prince Legacy Henderson Project along with purple family will unite yearly in June in Henderson for Prince Fest...to pay tribute to Prince Rogers Nelson and to continue to promote his legacy.

Henderson welcomes visitors all year round. The statue, mural, and tribute bench, now named โ€œPrince Gardenโ€ are located at 522 Main Street (Highway 19 Boulevard) . Donโ€™t forget to sign the guest book. You can make a donation to the charity at the site or by mail to Prince Legacy Henderson Project, P O Box 423, 105 North 4th Street, Henderson, MN 56044.
