Paper Moon Knits
Inspired designs for the handknitter.

• ☾ •Jump right to it!
This is the last day to get the introductory discount for Intrecciato.
At .ravelry and in my webshop.

• ☾ •Been working on this for a while, not because it's hard but because sometimes, life is.
One more sleeve, and then hope to put it up for testing.

• ☾ •
I'm a relatively new spinner. I'm still really in the early learning stages. One thing I'd like to know is how do I evenly distribute the yarn on the bobbins. I have one more bobbin to go with this, as I really like a 3-ply. So before I start that one, got any advice for how to do that?
I know about a , but not sure I want to invest in that right now, although the bobbins done with it look beautiful. One of the reasons I'm not sure is I have a second wheel - a Kiwi - and don't know if I could use the same on both. Is it just about beautiful-looking bobbins or will having bobbins like these affect the yarn when I'm plying?
Any and all advice welcome!

• ☾ •Released the pattern for these socks today -- Intrecciato -- which means "woven" in Italian. The 2-stitch cables criss cross each other and the horizontal purl ridges duck under. Fun and intuitive.
The pattern comes in 3 sizes and each size has a separate chart with corresponding written instructions. They're knit from the cuff down and have a heel flap and gusset.
I think you could knit them for your guy, too. 😉 You have plenty of time to get these done before the holidays!
Intrecciato's on sale for everyone on .ravelry and in my webshop, and as always, PMK newsletter subscribers get a special discount.

• ☾ •Catherine and (Betsy) are friends who are testing for me. They signed up together and were so excited to begin. They decided to do a mini KAL.
I always get lucky and have a wonderful group of knitters on my tests, but these two are SO much fun! (Swipe to see what I mean!)
The pattern will be released in a few weeks.

The pattern's still on sale through tonight.

• ☾ • Release day for the Nodolini socks!
Sometimes a design just comes together. I won't say effortlessly, because there is a lot of work that goes into any pattern. But designing and writing this one was one of those times where it all just "flowed." The tiny 2-stitch cables (in all sorts of 1-over-1 configurations), the length of the leg vs. the pattern row repeat, the fit, and the yarn by really worked together.
There's a 40% discount for PMK newsletter subscribers and 20% for everyone else on .ravelry.
Just in case you're wondering, the socks are knit from the cuff down with a heel-flap-and-gusset construction, I loved every minute of knitting them.

• ☾ • In the past, I struggled to knit socks. Not because I don't like them. I LOVE everything about them -- they're small and portable, I get to play with fun yarn, there's only one skein involved, and they follow a pretty standard formula. It's because I never seemed to finish the second after the first was done.
So, I've started to knit them in tandem, meaning cuff on sock 1, then cuff on sock 2; leg on sock 1, leg on sock 2, etc. Since I started doing them this way, it's been easier to finish a pair. I'm sure it takes me just as long, but I've tricked myself into believing it's going faster.
These are a new pair I've designed. Sock 1 was done on Tuesday, and the second one will be finished tonight!

• ☾ • Some more of my favorite by some incredibly talented test knitters, Jeanne, Vicki, Nicole, Yessica, Pam, Nicole, Vicky and Toni
The pullover has 2 sleeve options, long and short. Some of the testers like the side "seam" detail so much they added it to the sleeves. If you look at Nicole's version () you can see how it looks.
This is the final day you can get a discount on Roseneath. Links in profile 👆

• ☾ • Here are some of the beautiful versions of the knitted by the testers. Thanks to --- (Gundega, Carmela, Chia, Shanthi, Deborah, Gerda, Ela Ge, and Mickey)!
More to come tomorrow.
You can see that knitters used all kinds of fibers. In this set, there's everything from wooly wools to a fine merino with paillettes.
The pattern is still on sale until tomorrow. Newsletter subscribers get an extra special discount, as always.

• ☾ • Finally opening the test call on these over on . Link to test in bio.
They're called Nodolini -- Italian for "little knots."
Cuff-down, heel flap and gusset, all-over pattern of small cables in 3 sizes.
You can get all the details in the test, but this will be a quickie. You only need to complete one sock for the test (but I'm hoping you'll make both).

• ☾ • Today's the day for Roseneath's release!
It's a top-down pullover with a lace yoke and 2 sleeve options, long and short. I worked my version a little longer to work with jeans, but I think a shorter, cropped option would be great with skirts and over dresses. And just because I don't love to work rounds and rounds of Stockinette, there's a little lace seam detail that echoes a bit of the lace in the yoke.
Yarn choice is everything here. I knit mine the sportweight Merino Linen from . It's drapey and cool, but this week I'll show you some others that my testers did with other fibers and longer sleeves that make their versions very different from mine.
The pattern is 40% off for PMK newsletter subscribers and 20% off for everyone else until Sept. 9th. Check out my bio for links. ☝️

• ☾ •The test call for this one just opened up on .
Roseneath is a top-down sweater with a lace yoke and a complementary side detail. Both the lace and the construction are relatively simple. The pattern is written for 10 sizes with options for long and short sleeves. It's knit in The Knitting Place Merino Linen, a heavy fingering/light sport weight yarn.
The test deadline is August 31st.
You can find the link in my bio.👆 Happy to answer any questions. And if this one's not for you right now, be sure to sign up for my special test-call list so you can find out about future tests first.
Thanks to for the yarn support! The drape is spectacular.

• ☾ •This one took a l-o-n-g time to finish, not because it's difficult (at all), but just because there were too many things going on this spring. My head was spinning and my priorities weren't knitting.
The test call will be going out for it in the next week or so, and then hope to release it before true summer is still with us. If you'd like to test and aren't on the test call list, the link for that is up above 👆

Going to attempt to chain ply a whole bobbins-worth. 🫰

View of my beautiful Sea Star testers walking away!
What would I do without you ?
Pattern discount ends tomorrow on .ravelry and in my webshop.

• ☾ •Yes, I designed Sea Star so that the action happens when you're walking away, but that doesn't mean I don't also love the rest of it.
These are some of my wonderful test knitters' versions. (Later I'll show you the backs of these beauties.) The drop shoulder means that the upper arm bands of lace blend into the back lace, but at the front, the bands pop on the sea of plain Stockinette.
A big ♥️ thank you ♥️ to the testers here (in order):
