Shredding and Extraction: Before shredding, the cooked agave is first chopped by hand with axes, breaking it down into manageable pieces. A repurposed 1970s Chevy inline 6‑cylinder engine then powers the shredder, tearing the agave into fibrous strands. These fibers are washed by hand with pure natural spring water to extract the rich agave sugars for fermentation(commercial_purple820).

The new expression is a blend of two distinct 14-year aged Single Blended Molasses Rums coming from the double-retort pot still and twin column Coffey Still of Foursquare Rum Distillery. One rum was aged for 14 years entirely in Ex-Bourbon barrels and the other was aged for 14 years entirely in Ex-Madeira casks.

These Exceptional Cask Selections represent the unique, limited, and rare offerings of Foursquare Rum Distillery which Master Distiller and Master Blender Richard Seale hand selected. They are only released when he feels they are of exceptional quality.

Each is one-of-a-kind, only available for a limited time, and showcase truly unique approaches to both Rum blending and maturation.

All blending, bottling, and aging occurred entirely on-site by Seale. No added color, sugar, filtration, or flavor additives. The expression was bottled at 124 proof (62% ABV)🔥🔥🔥

Long awaited... Montagave Single Barrel Reposado Private Select 98 proof!

Nose: Bright, floral citrus and honey. Amazing!!

Palate: Silky and rich, buttery, vanilla, and honey. Barrel notes are there but the high ABV of 49% ensures the agave forwardness is there. Just the perfect balance.

Finish: Incredibly long and sweet finish. Honey, tropical floral, and light wood finish.

Overall: Another absolute HOME RUN from Montagave Bordeaux barrels bring the wonderful scents and flower that perfectly compliment 1123 juice. If you're a fan of Cascahuin or Montagave or just want one of the best examples of what a tequila should be, this is it!!
