In general, we like the trend of providing more and better fitness amenities ... but I wonder if providing individualized fitness plans is the way to go.
http://www.4hoteliers.com/features/article/7539
Could not similar results be provided w/out intervention of a brand-name personal trainer but rather a branded fitness program?
How about this idea ... team up w/ someone like Beachbody to create branded workouts w/ skill levels ranging from absolute beginner to Shaun T's Insanity.
Then provide guided self-service program selection in-room.
The win-win here would be that the hotel provides a great programmed amenity and Beachbody gets exposure and perhaps another convert. The guest could even be provided an opportunity to purchase in a friction-less manner ... maybe even to folio or concierge.

Interesting piece from a couple of months ago by Joe Brancatelli over at the Business Journals. The headline is pretty straight forward, but the good stuff is back on page 4.
http://www.bizjournals.com/bizjournals/blog/seat2B/2013/01/lodgenet-bankruptcy-challenges-hotel-tv.html
In other words, we're not far from the days that we bring our own devices, our own programming and our own Internet to our hotel rooms. Who's going to use an in-room TV or buy in-room programming then?
The answer is obvious, but it's implications not so much. We're pulling that thread a little bit further, and with any luck at all we'll be able to talk to you about it in the not too distant future.
LodgeNet faces reality: Business travelers just don't watch hotel TVs anymore - The Business Journal Despite an installed base of 7,700 hotels in 1.6 million rooms, LodgeNet plans to file for bankruptcy. Business travelers probably won't notice much: they've already stopped watching hotel TV.
Finally got around to updating the website (www.atrileo.com) after something like four or five months.
Nothing more embarrassing than being "open" for business, banging it out for your clients, yet still have your home page say you're still working on getting infrastructure set up ... that's just bad form.
Won't happen again, sorry 'bout that.
