✨ PSYCHOMETRY: READING THE ENERGY OF OBJECTS ✨

Awakening Butterflies, psychometry is a wonderful intuitive-development exercise that uses clairsentience — your ability to notice feelings, impressions, sensations, or intuitive information — while holding a physical object.

The object might belong to someone living, someone in Spirit, or even be a family heirloom that has been passed down through generations.

For this exercise, ask a willing volunteer to choose an object that has personal meaning to them.

It could be:

A piece of jewelry
A watch
A photograph
A key
A small keepsake
A piece of clothing
A family heirloom
Or another meaningful item

Before you begin, ask them not to tell you the story behind the object.

Sit somewhere quiet.

Take a few breaths.

Relax your body.

Then gently hold the item and simply notice what comes up.

You may receive:

A feeling
A memory-like image
A color
A personality impression
A physical sensation
A word or phrase
A relationship dynamic
A place
A time period
Or simply a quiet sense of knowing

Try not to force the information.

Let the first impressions come naturally.

You might say:

“I’m getting a sense of…”

“This feels connected to…”

“I keep seeing…”

“Does this mean anything to you?”

Then allow your sitter to validate with simple feedback.

If you feel like a loved one in Spirit is connected to the object, you can explore that gently — but remember that the object itself was the starting point for the exercise.

The focus is not on proving anything.

The focus is on learning how your intuition responds to physical objects.

And one very important reminder:

Handle your sitter’s item with absolute care.

That object may carry deep sentimental value.

Ask before opening, unfolding, wearing, cleaning, or moving anything delicate.

Treat it with the same respect you would want someone to show one of your own treasured belongings.

🦋 Awakening Butterfly Reflection

Afterward, journal about the experience:

What did you notice first?
Did the information come through feeling, seeing, hearing, or knowing?
What was validated?
What surprised you?
Did the object feel different once you relaxed?

Psychometry can be a beautiful way to practice trust, patience, and discernment.

Relax. Receive. Stay curious. And let the object tell its story in its own way. 💜🦋✨

✨ BROWN BAG SPIRIT ✨

Awakening Butterflies, this is a wonderful mediumship-development exercise for practicing trust, surrender, and receiving impressions without having visual information to rely on.

Ask a friend or colleague to choose a photo or meaningful memento of a loved one in Spirit and place it inside a plain brown paper bag.

The important part:

Do not let them tell you who the person is.

No name.

No relationship.

No background information.

No hints.

The goal is to remove as much conscious information as possible so you can focus on what arises intuitively.

Sit somewhere quiet and take a few moments to center yourself.

Place your hands gently on or near the outside of the bag.

Do not open it.

Do not try to identify the object by squeezing or feeling for its shape.

Instead, simply relax and notice.

What comes to mind first?

A personality?

An emotion?

A memory?

A relationship dynamic?

A hobby?

A place?

A physical mannerism?

A phrase?

A sense of humor?

A particular age or generation?

A feeling of warmth, protectiveness, playfulness, or seriousness?

Let the impressions come without forcing them into a story.

You might say:

“I’m getting a sense of…”

“This feels like…”

“I keep thinking of…”

Then allow your sitter to validate with simple responses such as:

Yes.
No.
Maybe.
I’m not sure.

Try not to let them give you too much information during the exercise, because the point is to practice receiving rather than being led.

And remember: this is a development exercise, not a test you have to “pass.”

If something does not make sense, let it go.

If nothing comes through right away, breathe and stay curious.

If you are unsure whether something is intuitive or simply your imagination, write it down and observe the pattern over time.

🦋 Awakening Butterfly Reflection

Afterward, journal about the experience:

What came through first?
Did you feel, see, hear, or simply know the information?
What was validated?
Where did you begin to doubt yourself?
What surprised you?

The heart of this exercise is not perfection.

It is learning how to trust your process without forcing an outcome.

Relax. Receive. Share gently. Let the evidence speak for itself. 💜🦋✨

✨ CONNECTING TO SPIRIT: A MEDIUMSHIP DEVELOPMENT PRACTICE ✨

Awakening Butterflies, this exercise is designed to help you strengthen your mediumship by practicing with a willing volunteer in a focused, compassionate way.

Choose someone who understands that this is purely a development exercise and who is comfortable participating.

Before you begin, make sure they know:

This is practice.
There are no guarantees.
They are free to stop at any time.
They should only share what they are comfortable sharing.

Ideally, choose a sitter who knew the loved one well enough to recognize personality traits, memories, habits, relationships, or details that may come through.

Set aside about 30 minutes.

Take a few moments to center yourself, breathe, and settle into your practice.

Then gently set your intention to connect through clairsentience — the feeling sense.

Notice what arises.

Do you sense a personality?

A mood?

A familiar mannerism?

A relationship dynamic?

A memory?

A habit?

A place?

A feeling of warmth, humor, protectiveness, tenderness, or something else?

Try not to force details.

Let the information come naturally.

And remember: you do not have to turn every impression into a dramatic statement.

You can simply say:

“I’m getting a sense of…”

or

“This feels like…”

or

“Does this mean anything to you?”

Keep the reading conversational.

You are not performing.

You are practicing how to receive, interpret, and communicate impressions while staying connected to the sitter.

As you work, remember the stages of a reading:

Open the connection.
Establish who you feel you are connecting with.
Share personality, memories, habits, relationships, or evidence.
Allow the sitter to respond briefly.
Stay with the flow without fishing for information.
Close the reading gently and clearly.

The focus of this exercise is blending — allowing yourself to become still enough to notice the qualities that seem to arise in the connection.

But blending does not mean losing your boundaries.

You are still responsible for staying grounded, ethical, and aware.

Do not research the sitter or their loved one beforehand.

Do not pressure yourself to get names, dates, or perfect details.

Do not make frightening predictions.

Do not diagnose illness or tell someone what they “must” do.

And if you are unsure, say so.

Humility is part of good mediumship practice.

When the session is over, thank your volunteer and take a few moments to journal.

Ask yourself:

What came through most clearly?
Did I feel it, see it, hear it, or simply know it?
Where did I feel most relaxed?
Where did I begin to doubt or overthink?
What would I like to practice next time?

🦋 Awakening Butterfly Reflection

The goal is not to prove anything.

The goal is to learn how your connection works.

Practice gently.

Stay curious.

Stay ethical.

And let each session teach you something new about how you receive. 💜✨

✨ DREAM WEAVER ✨

Awakening Butterflies, our dreams can be a beautiful doorway into the subconscious, our emotions, our memories, our intuition, and our spiritual reflections.

For this exercise, keep a dream journal for one full week.

Place your journal and a pen beside your bed before you go to sleep.

Each morning, write down everything you can remember.

Include the date, approximate time, people, places, colors, emotions, symbols, conversations, and anything that felt especially vivid or unusual.

If a dream wakes you during the night, jot down a few details before going back to sleep. Dreams can fade incredibly quickly once we wake up, so even a few keywords can help you remember more later.

At the end of each entry, ask yourself:

What emotion was strongest in this dream?
Did anything repeat from another dream?
Did a person, animal, number, place, or symbol stand out?
Does this connect with anything happening in my waking life?
Did the dream feel ordinary, symbolic, intuitive, or spiritually meaningful to me?

As the week goes on, look for patterns.

Maybe certain themes repeat.

Maybe your dreams reflect stress, hope, grief, love, or change.

Maybe a loved one appears in a way that feels deeply comforting.

Maybe something from a dream later reminds you of an experience you have while awake.

If that happens, write it down too.

Try not to force every dream into being a prediction or message. Some dreams may simply be your brain processing emotion, memory, or daily life. Others may feel personally meaningful in ways that deserve reflection.

The goal is not to prove anything.

The goal is to become more aware of how your inner world communicates with you.

🦋 Awakening Butterfly Dream Challenge

For seven days:

Dream.
Record.
Reflect.
Notice patterns.

At the end of the week, read everything back and ask:

“What has my subconscious, intuition, or spiritual practice been trying to show me?”

You may be surprised by how much becomes clearer when you begin paying attention. 💜🌙✨

✨ SIT IN THE POWER ✨

Awakening Butterflies, this week’s practice is about learning to become still enough to feel your own presence, your own energy, and your connection to something greater.

Set aside 20 minutes, at least three times this week, to simply sit in the power.

Find a quiet place where you can be comfortable and uninterrupted.

Let your body relax.

Soften your shoulders.

Unclench your jaw.

Allow your breath to become slow and natural.

As you breathe, imagine energy gently rising from your feet, moving through your body, and continuing upward through the crown of your head.

You might picture your energy expanding around you like light.

You might sense warmth, tingling, calm, spaciousness, or simply a deeper awareness of yourself.

There is no need to force a particular experience.

The purpose is not to “perform” spiritually.

The purpose is to practice being present with your own soul.

Let yourself feel your inner strength.

Your wisdom.

Your connection.

Your stillness.

Your sense of oneness.

You may wish to quietly hold the intention:

“I am present. I am connected. I am open to experiencing the power of my own soul.”

Then simply sit.

Breathe.

Notice.

Allow.

When your 20 minutes are complete, write about the experience in your journal.

For each session, include:

Day and time
How you felt before you began
What you noticed physically
What you noticed emotionally
Any thoughts, images, sensations, or impressions that stood out
How you felt afterward

Do this separately for all three sessions.

Then, at the end of the week, look back and compare.

Did one session feel easier than another?

Did your body settle more quickly?

Did your awareness change?

Did anything repeat?

Did you notice more peace, confidence, or clarity?

And remember: nothing dramatic has to happen for the practice to be meaningful.

Sometimes the deepest spiritual growth happens quietly.

Sometimes the “power” is simply realizing that you can sit with yourself, breathe, and feel whole without needing to chase an answer.

🦋 Awakening Butterfly Reflection

What does it feel like when I stop searching outside myself and simply allow myself to be?

Sit in the power.

Own your presence.

Trust your inner wisdom.

And let the experience unfold in its own way. 💜✨

✨ SPIRIT GOALS: HOW ARE YOU BEING CALLED TO SERVE? ✨

Awakening Butterflies, sometimes we become so focused on discovering our gifts that we forget to ask a deeper question:

“How can I use what I have to be of service?”

Find a quiet place where you can sit comfortably and spend a few minutes in meditation.

Take several slow breaths.

Let the noise of the day begin to settle.

Then gently set this intention:

“Spirit, what are the three most important ways you would like me to be of service at this point in my journey?”

Then listen.

You may receive a word.

An image.

A memory.

A person who suddenly comes to mind.

A feeling.

An idea.

Or simply a quiet sense of knowing.

When you are finished, write down the three things that stood out most strongly.

Maybe you feel called to encourage others.

To listen.

To teach.

To create.

To advocate.

To care for animals.

To pray.

To heal.

To write.

To support someone who feels alone.

Or perhaps your message is something much quieter, such as learning how to care for yourself so that you can eventually serve others from a healthier place.

There is no need to force an answer.

And please remember: this is not a permanent assignment.

Your purpose can evolve.

Your gifts can change.

The way you serve at one stage of your life may look completely different several years from now.

This exercise is not about discovering one rigid destiny that you must follow perfectly.

It is simply an opportunity to pause and ask:

“Where does my heart feel called right now?”

You can even revisit this meditation every few months and notice whether your answers change.

🦋 Awakening Butterfly Reflection

Afterward, ask yourself:

Which of these three feels most natural to me?
Which one excites me?
Which one challenges me?
What is one small way I can begin expressing it now?

Service does not always have to be enormous.

Sometimes being of service means changing one person’s day.

Offering kindness.

Listening without judgment.

Sharing something you have learned.

Creating something that brings another person hope.

Or simply showing up with love.

Your purpose does not have to arrive as one giant revelation. Sometimes it reveals itself through the little ways you keep feeling called to help. 💜🦋✨

✨ CHANNEL SPIRIT: A MESSAGE ABOUT TRUE LOVE ✨

Awakening Butterflies, this is a simple channeling and automatic-writing exercise centered on the energy of true love.

Find a quiet space where you can relax without interruption.

Take a few slow breaths.

Let your body settle.

Then set the intention to ask:

“Spirit, what message would you like to give me about true love?”

When you feel ready, open your journal and begin to write.

Do not stop to edit.

Do not worry about grammar, spelling, or whether the words sound profound.

Just let the thoughts, feelings, images, phrases, or impressions move onto the page.

Write continuously for 5–10 minutes.

If your mind goes blank, simply write:

“I am listening…”

and keep going.

When you are finished, pause for a moment.

Take a breath.

Then read the message back slowly.

Notice what stands out.

Maybe the message is about romantic love.

Maybe it is about self-love.

Maybe it is about forgiveness, friendship, family, boundaries, trust, or allowing yourself to receive love in a healthier way.

You may want to ask yourself:

What part of this message feels most meaningful to me?
What does true love look like in my life right now?
What am I learning about giving and receiving love?
Where am I being asked to love more deeply — including myself?

There is no need to force a message or interpret every sentence spiritually.

Sometimes the wisdom that comes through simply reflects what your heart has been trying to tell you all along.

🦋 Awakening Butterfly Reflection

“What does true love feel like when it is safe, reciprocal, honest, and free?”

Let yourself write from the heart and see what unfolds. 💜✨

🌿 Empaths, Energy & Protecting Your Peace

If you identify as an empath, you may feel deeply affected by the emotions, moods, and energy of the people around you.

Sometimes that sensitivity can be so strong that you find yourself wondering:

“Is this actually mine?”

That can be a powerful question.

When you suddenly feel anxious, heavy, irritated, sad, or drained, pause and check in with yourself.

Ask:

“Is this feeling connected to something happening in me, or did I notice it after being around someone else?”

You do not have to immediately believe every feeling belongs to you.

Sometimes awareness itself creates space.

And if you decide the emotion does not feel like yours, you can gently release it with the intention:

“I return what is not mine with love, and I keep only what belongs to me.”

🧛‍♀️ What About “Energy Vampires”?

We have probably all met someone who leaves us feeling absolutely wrung out after a conversation. 😅

They may dominate every interaction.

Complain constantly.

Gossip.

Interrupt.

Ignore your needs.

Turn every topic back toward themselves.

Or rely on you so heavily that you begin feeling responsible for their emotional state.

Some spiritual traditions call these people energy vampires.

I think it can be useful to focus less on labeling the person and more on noticing the effect the relationship has on you.

Ask:

Do I consistently feel depleted after interacting with this person?

Am I always giving while they are always taking?

Do I feel guilty whenever I try to say no?

Am I trying to rescue someone who is not taking responsibility for themselves?

That information matters.

Because being compassionate does not require becoming someone else’s unlimited emotional resource.

🪞 Practice #1: Turn the Mirrors Out

This is a visualization you can try when you feel emotionally overwhelmed by someone else’s presence.

Imagine that the palms of your hands are mirrors facing outward.

Rather than absorbing everything coming toward you, imagine that the emotional energy simply stops at your boundary.

You are not attacking anyone.

You are not sending negativity back.

You are simply saying:

“I do not need to absorb this.”

You can imagine the energy being reflected away, neutralized, or returned to its source with peace.

Think of it as energetic “talk to the hand,” but make it spiritual. 😂

🫧 Practice #2: The Clear Protection Box

Imagine yourself standing inside a clear, strong, protective space.

You can see out.

You can communicate.

You can love.

You can be present.

But you are not absorbing everything around you.

This can be especially helpful before going into crowded or emotionally intense environments.

Workplaces.

Shopping centers.

Hospitals.

Family gatherings.

Large events.

Anywhere you tend to leave feeling overstimulated or drained.

The goal is not to shut yourself away.

It is to remain connected without becoming porous.

🖤 Practice #3: Clearing Rituals

Some people like having a physical ritual that symbolizes resetting their space.

That might include:

✨ Opening windows
✨ Taking a shower or bath
✨ Tidying your environment
✨ Burning incense or herbs safely
✨ Using sound, prayer, or meditation
✨ Carrying a crystal such as black tourmaline as a symbolic reminder of protection
✨ Cleaning the space and intentionally imagining heaviness leaving with the clutter and grime

The object itself does not have to do all the work.

The important part is the intention:

“This is my space. I am choosing peace here.”

If you use smoke, candles, or cleaning products, always keep pets, breathing sensitivities, ventilation, and fire safety in mind.

💜 The Real Protection: Boundaries

Visualization can be helpful.

Ritual can be helpful.

Crystals can be meaningful.

But one of the strongest forms of protection is still a boundary.

Sometimes protection sounds like:

“I don’t have the capacity for this conversation tonight.”

“I can listen for ten minutes, but then I need to rest.”

“I care about you, but I cannot solve this for you.”

“Please don’t speak to me that way.”

“I’m not discussing that.”

“No.”

That last one is a complete sentence, even if our nurturing little souls would occasionally like to submit a twelve-page explanation with supporting documentation. 😂

🌸 You Can Be Loving Without Being Available to Everyone

Many sensitive people are natural nurturers.

That is beautiful.

But nurturing does not mean rescuing.

Compassion does not mean tolerating disrespect.

Kindness does not require unlimited access.

And being spiritually loving does not mean remaining in every relationship indefinitely.

There may be people you cannot completely avoid.

Family.

Coworkers.

Neighbors.

People in shared communities.

But you can still change how much access they have to your time, attention, and emotional energy.

You are allowed to decide:

when you engage

how long you engage

what you discuss

what behavior you accept

and

when you step away

✨ Reflection Questions

Who leaves you feeling nourished?

Who consistently leaves you depleted?

Where are you giving from genuine love, and where are you giving because you feel guilty?

What boundary would create more balance in your life right now?

And when you feel overwhelmed by someone else’s emotions, can you practice asking:

“What is mine, and what is not mine?”

🌙 Affirmation

I can be sensitive without absorbing everything around me.
I can love people without carrying them.
I can care without abandoning myself.
My boundaries protect the energy I need for my own life, purpose, and well-being.
I release what is not mine and return to myself with peace. 🌿✨

For my Awakening Butterflies and Light Seekers: what helps you protect your energy when you are around someone who feels emotionally draining?

🧭 The Inner Compass: A Clairsentient Tool for Yes-or-No Guidance

Sometimes the simplest spiritual tools are the ones we return to most often.

One practice you can experiment with is what I like to call the inner compass.

Unlike a pendulum or another physical divination tool, this one is based on clairsentience — intuitive feeling through the body.

The idea is simple:

Your body may react differently when something feels true, false, aligned, or misaligned.

The goal is not to force an answer.

It is to become more aware of the subtle sensations that arise before the analytical mind takes over.

✨ How to Find Your Compass

Imagine a small circle in the area between your belly button and your rib cage.

Rest your hand there.

Now imagine a vertical line dividing that circle into two sides.

One side will become your personal YES response.

The other will become your NO response.

There is no universal rule about which side means which.

You are simply learning the language of your own body and intuition.

🌿 Start With Something You Know Is True

Begin with a very simple factual statement.

For example:

“My first name is ______.”

Choose something you know without hesitation.

Then notice what happens internally.

Does your awareness seem to pull slightly to the left?

The right?

Forward?

Does one side of your body feel warmer, lighter, more open, or more noticeable?

Whatever you consistently associate with the true statement can become your YES signal.

Then test the opposite.

Say something obviously false.

For example:

“My first name is Banana.” 😂

Notice whether the sensation changes.

That becomes your NO.

And don’t worry if the first attempt feels like…

absolutely nothing whatsoever.

Intuitive awareness often becomes clearer through repetition rather than appearing with fireworks on Day One.

🪷 Building the “Intuition Muscle”

Spend some time practicing with things you can verify.

Ask questions like:

Is today Sunday?

Am I wearing shoes?

Is my phone in this room?

Use questions where you already know the answer.

Why?

Because it helps you learn the difference between an intuitive bodily response and simply wanting an answer to be true.

Once you recognize your pattern more consistently, you can experiment with less obvious questions.

🔮 Using the Compass During Spiritual Work

For someone practicing psychic or mediumistic work, the compass can be used as a way of exploring impressions.

Maybe during a reading you receive an image of a watch.

Instead of immediately inventing a story around it, you might internally ask:

Did this watch belong to the person I’m sensing?

Was it passed down through the family?

Is there something significant about it?

Then notice your clairsentient response.

From there, you may receive another impression through clairvoyance, clairaudience, memory, symbolism, or feeling.

The compass doesn’t have to replace your other intuitive senses.

It can simply become another way of asking:

“Where does this impression want to go?”

💫 Using It for Your Own Decisions

You can also experiment with the compass in everyday life.

Should I pursue this project?

Do I need more information before saying yes?

Does this opportunity feel aligned?

Would it benefit me to wait?

Is this relationship or situation draining me?

But I would add one important piece:

Use intuition alongside discernment, not instead of it.

For major decisions involving health, finances, safety, legal matters, relationships, or other life-changing choices, let the compass be one source of reflection — not your only source of information.

Sometimes intuition says:

YES.

Sometimes it says:

NO.

And sometimes the wisest answer is:

“I don’t have enough information yet.”

That is guidance too.

🧭 Practice for Today

Spend one day noticing your inner compass.

Start with questions you can verify.

Then keep track of what you notice.

Were some answers clearer than others?

Did your body respond differently when you were tired, anxious, excited, or emotionally invested?

Did you notice yourself trying to influence the answer?

That part is fascinating.

Because developing intuition is not just about getting answers.

It is also about learning the difference between:

intuition, fear, hope, habit, and expectation.

✨ Reflection Questions

What does YES feel like in your body?

What does NO feel like?

Do you experience intuition through warmth, pressure, expansion, heaviness, movement, chills, or something completely different?

And most importantly:

What happens when you stop trying to force an answer and simply listen?

🌙 Affirmation

I trust myself to listen deeply.
I allow intuition and discernment to work together.
I do not force answers.
I notice what my body communicates with curiosity.
The more I practice, the more familiar my inner language becomes. 🧭✨

For my Awakening Butterflies and Light Seekers: if you try this exercise, share what your YES and NO signals feel like. I’m curious whether everyone experiences their “inner compass” a little differently.
