I am gutted to share that I will not be able to compete in this weekend's GR Cup Rounds 11 & 12 at Barber Motorsports Park. After losing brakes at the last race at Road America, the car suffered some heavy damage. It is repairable, but there just isn't enough time to get it race ready for Barber.
Many of you have asked how I doing physically and the answer is I am okay. I have been cleared to drive again, but I will continue to receive treatment for my concussion. Brain injuries can be unpredictable and i will never take any chances when it comes to that. It is always better to be extra cautious.
I cannot put into words how disappointed I am. I love Barber and was really looking forward to being back. I was excited about bringing the purple and orange Racing to End Alzheimer's car to Alabama and represent such an amazing organization. You can still support them by visiting r2endalz.org
I love racing. I want to be in that seat. As hard as this setback is, it won't stop me from doing everything I can to be competing again.
Road America has some of the best fans and always delivers incredible racing—especially in the wet. Racing is full of ups and downs so it's nice to be able to look back at some of the postives. Already looking forward to next year.
Onboard from the crash at Road America. Thankful I didn’t collect anyone else and ruin their race. Concussion is still lingering but lucky to have a great team helping me through it.
