How cool is this? Last Wednesday, an extremely endangered female Kemp’s Ridley sea turtle came ashore and laid nearly 100 eggs in North Myrtle Beach. Our friends with the NMB Sea Turtle Patrol will do everything possible to make sure the eggs are protected from people and predators! Photo via Doug Dennis.

Forget the Protein Smoothie, 10/Fold Biscuits is where it’s at. A sign on their wall says “Count Memories Not Calories”, every once in a while you need to indulge and this “Lowcounty BLT” was worth it. A delicious biscuit topped with fried green tomato, bacon, arugula, pimento cheese and pimento aioli, it was a delicious flavor medley and was worth every calorie. I can have a smoothie tomorrow.

Throwback Thursday to a few weeks ago when we set out to explore 44 & King after seeing it featured on Beach TV. A quick look at the menu and I was ready to check it out. I really look forward to visiting on Taco Tuesday, but the Thursday “Chicken Bog” special was calling me and It did not disappoint! Perhaps most surprising was the absolutely incredibly delicious collard greens, hands down the best I’ve ever tasted. 44 & King offers a relaxed, casual, yet sophisticated environment. A welcome change from the traditional tiki bar, and always better than any chain restaurant available. Dine local, you won’t be disappointed. When a New Yorker wants a good pizza in Myrtle Beach, she calls Chris’ Pizza in Longs. Delicious New York style pizza straight out of West Virginia. 🤷‍♀️. This right here is my favorite pizza they have, it’s called the “Winterplace”. It has a base of olive oil, garlic and mozzarella cheese, and is topped with grilled chicken, spinach, roasted red peppers, and feta cheese. Tell me this doesn’t look incredible. Stop in and order yourself a delicious pizza, tell them the Part Time Local sent you.

11:30 in the morning and Hamburger Joe’s is already hopping. You can’t beat their burgers. Hamburger Joe’s is comfort and home.
