Proud to have been part of something bigger than business last week! Our Business Development Representative, Rich Coombs, joined volunteers at the post-Memorial Day beach cleanup at Garden City Beach and it was truly a special morning.

Thank you to Jolene Selwa of Crescent Realty for making us aware of this event and getting us involved. A special shoutout to Heather Tenney, VP of Member Services at the Coastal Carolinas Association of Realtors, for her responsiveness and for making Rich feel so welcome. And a big thank you to Joe of Myrtle Serve and Renee of Assisted Living Locators Myrtle Beach-Florence, SC for being great teammates out there on the beach!

At Destination Home, doing our part for the environment and showing up for our community is something we take seriously. We look forward to more opportunities like this.

So inspiring! Huge shout-out to the Coastal Carolinas Association of Realtors for organizing a fantastic post-Memorial Day cleanup at Garden City Beach! 🏖️

Love seeing our community, the South Carolina Aquarium, and the bright students from Seaside Elementary come together to protect our coastline and learn about the Loggerhead Sea Turtle! 🐢 What a wonderful way to give back.

Happy to be part of our clean-up crew trio with Joe of Myrtle Serve and Rich of Destination Home Myrtle Beach!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and energy to keep our beaches pristine!

Crawl spaces. Attics. The places in your home you haven't been since you moved in.
We go there.
Full hazmat gear, flashlights, and absolutely no hesitation. Mold mitigation means getting to where the mold actually is, not just what you can see. Our team handles the spaces most people don't even want to look at, much less work in.
If something smells off, feels damp, or you just haven't checked the crawl space in a few years... give us a call. We'll take a look so you don't have to.

Most Major Water Damage Starts as a Small Leak.

In many cases, the real issue is the moisture you cannot see.
Especially here along the Grand Strand, rising heat and humidity can quickly turn a small leak into:
• mold growth
• odor issues
• damaged drywall and flooring
• indoor air quality concerns
• larger reconstruction costs
Many major restoration projects begin as something that initially seemed minor:
a slow plumbing leak, HVAC overflow, roof intrusion, or small area of discoloration.
The biggest difference we see between a manageable repair and a major restoration loss is often response time.
The first 24–48 hours after water intrusion are critical for:
→ proper drying
→ moisture detection
→ documentation
→ helping prevent further damage
As we move further into storm and humidity season, this is a good reminder for property owners, managers, Realtors, and maintenance teams to stay proactive with inspections and maintenance.
At Destination Home, we focus on fast response, clear communication, proper documentation, and helping property owners minimize long-term damage and disruption.

Neighbor note
We recently helped a homeowner who suddenly started finding water in her unit and couldn’t figure out where it was coming from.
At first it appeared the problem might be inside the home, but after investigating further we discovered the source was actually a supply line in a neighboring unit.
Situations like this can become complicated quickly because they often involve multiple units, insurance questions, and HOA coordination.
We stayed involved through the entire process, documenting the damage, communicating with family members helping manage the home, coordinating with the neighboring unit, and assisting with the insurance documentation so everything could move forward properly.
Thankfully the issue was identified and handled before it had the chance to spread further.
A small reminder for neighbors: when water shows up somewhere unexpected, the source isn’t always where it first appears.

🌤️ As Temperatures Rise: A Quick Home Check

With temperatures warming back up after the recent freeze, now’s a good time to do a quick walk-through around your home.

A few things worth checking:
• Damp spots under sinks or near walls
• Drips or water stains you didn’t notice before
• Lower-than-normal water pressure
• Sounds of running water when nothing’s on

Frozen pipes don’t always show issues right away — small leaks can sometimes appear as things thaw.

Hopefully everything looks good and that’s the end of it. Just sharing this as a heads-up so nothing catches you off guard.

Stay safe and warm,

❄️ Freeze Coming This Weekend – Quick Reminder ❄️

Freezing temperatures are expected this weekend, especially overnight. It’s a good idea to keep an eye on your home once the cold sets in.

Watch for things like:
• Little or no water pressure
• Damp spots, stains, or pooling water
• Sounds of running water when nothing’s on

Catching an issue early can make a huge difference—especially once things start to thaw.

Hopefully you won’t need us, but if something does pop up, we’re local and ready to help.

Stay warm and safe this weekend.
