Who or What can be against us with what God has provided.

The one essential thing...What exactly, was Mary commended for? Mary was not praying; she "sat at Jesus' feet, and HEARD HIS WORD." She just sat there, drinking in all He had to say. This was "the one essential thing" which Mary had "chosen" and which our Lord said was not to be "taken away from her." While prayer and testimony and good works all have their importance in the life of the believer, hearing God's Word is "the one essential thing" above all others. Living Water loves our customers...Living Water still praying for all. Living Water loves God's Word.

The unbelieving heart only looks at the circumstances around him and leaves God out. Faith, on the contrary looks only at God, and leaves circumstances out. The disciples were in a storm, the waves filling the vessel, and, judging after the manner of men, it seemed a hopeless case. They awake Him, and say unto Him, Master, carest Thou not that we perish?..Carest Thou not? Let us ask the question, Is it possible we can perish with the Master on board? or can we ever think so with Christ in our hearts? Surely (they) ought to have know Him better....should not we??? If Christ is in the vessel (our hearts) how can we perish? John 14:27

And it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin. "Jesus of Nazareth, the king of the Jews". Hebrew was the language of the Jews; Greek of the educated world; Latin of the Romans; ..all who were gathered around the cross could read the title in his own language. Hebrew was the language of "religion", Greek of science, culture and philosophy; Latin of law. In each of these...Christ is KING! In religion, He is the final revelation of the true God (Heb. 1:2). In science, He is the force behind all things and all things consist (Col. 1:17). In Law He is supreme (1 Cor. 9:21). Thank God for the Cross...Thank God for He is Risen! He is over ALL!

Fear draws its strength from the unknown. Fear demoralizes, robs us of courage and of hope, and drives humanity to new depths of evil. There is but one way of dealing with fear...But how? Love alone is equal to the task. "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth our fear." "Perfect love," that is the love manifested in the death of the Lord Jesus Christ. He loved us enough to take our rightful place....and He says "I go to prepare a place for you" and if I go "I will come back"...What do we have to fear? He died, He rose, He's Coming Back...Perfect Love!

The question may be asked "what is the Church's response during this pandemic?" The "calling" of the Church has been and will be (to evangelize the world). Notice, not to "convert" the world (that's the Holy Spirit's job). The Church must preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ! The work of Christ must go forth regardless of the circumstances around us. But, some may object....the Church is unable to assemble, no excuse shall be accepted....But, perhaps we should "suspend" mission's....What better time than now, perhaps we (the Church) should increase "missions" during these dark days! The prayer and faith, and personal effort and self-sacrifice, and money invested in the evangelization of the world IS OUR MISSION.....Here, shall we not stand fast.

In Matt 17 Jesus comes upon a group of ten lepers who are isolated from everyone (social distancing mandated by law). They begin to shout to Jesus for "mercy". Verse 14; And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. However, here the similarity ends. Only "one of them...returned with thanks. As we walk along in this journey together, remember that the God of this universe wants, deserves our praise and thanks. Heb 13:15; By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. In 1 Peter 1:13, Peter said that for Christians to live holy lives, we need to be disciplined in our thinking. "Gird up the loins of your mind". The Bible continually talks about the importance of right thinking. Rom 12:2 says, be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. The current world news can certainly cause us to be anxious and depressed, so much so that many..no doubt have trouble sleeping. If we are going to be "disciplined" in our thinking, then we need to refuse to fill our minds with things that tempt us to fear. Lets fill our minds with the best news of all-The Gospel-For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Let us remember, God issued a "shelter in place" directive Himself to the Hebrew children as the Angel of Death passed by. He also had an additional directive, "be sure the blood is applied", if so, I will pass over you. Shall we not take comfort today...As children of God, with the blood applied, we are sheltered, either in this world or the next!

Trials come in many forms. Let us consider God's Word for comfort and surety.( For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. Psalm 27:5) (The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed a refuge in times of trouble. Psalm 9:9)

Fear is an understandable response to danger and to the unknown, the good news is that all of us can learn how to take courage during these difficult times. God has given us three limitless resources: His promises, His Word and His presence. We here at Living Water are praying for all of our customers and friends and loved one's.
