I'm not asking for anything other than the name and campaign your son or daughter fought and died for, to defend what was once the greatest country in the world, and to what, is to this day, the ONLY country to defend its freedom and the freedom of another that they don't even know. If I can get one Gold Star mom to respond, it will be worth my effort. I promise you, no strings attached, I only want the name of your loved one, the campaign, and preferably the branch of service he or she served in. I will send you the free candle. It costs you nothing but a moment to respond. Let me know you are out there, and know that you are appreciated. God Bless the USA and those who gave to keep our beliefs and traditions. You are not alone in your pain and grief. We love you. Please afford us this opportunity to acknowledge you and your loved ones for your sacrifices.

It has been brought to our attention that some of our new followers don't really know us, or only knew Virgina. I'm Kurt Marcus & my wife Cassandra Marcus helps me run the business, since Virgina got called to her heavenly home. I'm an Army Veteran. I am now a mechanic over in Hayesville, my wife stays home with our two younger children. I started the candle business 20 years ago in Charlotte NC and moved back here in 2011 to my hometown.

To all who may have wondered what had become of Owl Creek Candles and Crafts, let me take a moment to explain. Upon my return home to my well missed Appalachian home, I partnered with my Aunt, Virginia Loving, and we began making candles and selling them by word of mouth. In February of 2017, I lost my partner, Aunt and good friend to cancer. After she passed, it was difficult to go back into the shop. I closed the door and seldom opened it....until now. Having said this, if you are still reading, I will be reopening the shop, and will once again be making candles. In honor of my Aunt Virginia, any purchases of the scent "Butterfly Kisses" will receive 10% off the orders, and a portion of those proceeds will be donated to research on cures for cancer. Let me apologize for dropping off the face of the earth, but I wanted to explain why. Thank you to all who supported us and we look forward to hearing from you again.
