What is the issue with Carpenter bees?

During early spring and in the fall, carpenter bees bore holes in wood for shelter and can devastate the looks as well as the structural integrity of any exposed wood.

How does this work?

The carpenter bee enters the hole on either of the 4 sides. The holes on the side angled up. When the bee enters the hole it will not see the daylight coming from any hole except the bottom hole thay leads them into the jar.
