Great way to end the week...Just had a kickoff call with Serenity Renovations about a renovation to their website.

First time paddleboarding for Kathleen and Susan today before a day of website planning with ForbesBooks tomorrow. This gives a whole new meaning to work-life balance...emphasis on balance!

This weekend, Susan ran a half marathon after a five-year running hiatus. Here are several of her takeaways:

1: Plan and train.
Set a goal. Formulate a plan. Work the plan. There's not a lot of difference between running and marketing here. Both take discipline.

2: Conditions change.
Whether it's the changing forecast (since when did it call for 20 mph winds and possible snow?!) or road conditions (packed turf with rocks, not gravel as advertised, in the last four miles), adjust your strategy and stay focused on the mission. The best preparation, whether running or in marketing, means that you're prepared for change.

3: Run your own race.
Some are faster. Some are slower. Stay focused on your own pace and finish your race. Define the win (completing the race) and put one foot in front of the other. Sometimes, it pays off with your best performance yet and capture a PR (personal record)!
