We're excited to kick off with a big congratulations to Olivia Ranieri, BSN, RN, our March 2024 Nothing Bundt the Best award winner! Olivia was cited for her patient advocacy and care, and this patient account exemplifies why her patients and care team members appreciate Olivia:

"In one instance, we had a patient who had been with us for a while and was bed-bound and had no motivation to get up or work on getting himself better. Olivia took it upon herself to go into the patient's room and play music, give him a bath, get him dressed, and get him out of bed and into the wheelchair.

This took at least an hour. It was something that meant so much to this patient and you could tell he was so thankful and happy that she took the time out of her busy day to make him feel good. This is just one example of how much Olivia cares for her patients and how much they love having her as their nurse."

Thank you, Olivia, for your thoughtful, above-and-beyond care — Happy Nurses Week to all of our amazing nurses!

We're thrilled to share the success of our inaugural Spring into Wellness Community Health Fair.

MUSC Health Orangeburg CEO, Walter Bennett, III, says "There were health screenings, TED talks, Zumba and fitness instruction, health education and free produce grocery boxes. Being able to share this information was a positive success in my book, and we look forward to having this event on an annual basis. A special thanks to our partners Claflin University, Health Me Healthy SC and the City of Orangeburg. This event could not have been pulled off without everyone’s contribution."

Community health fairs are vital for spreading awareness and promoting healthy living. They offer essential health screenings, educational talks, fitness activities and even access to fresh produce.

Together, we're building healthier communities, one event at a time. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible! Let's continue to prioritize our health and well-being together.

MUSC Health mourns the loss of our good buddy, MUSC Volunteer Services therapy pup, Jaxson Bennett.

Jaxson, who crossed the rainbow bridge on April 25, has been a loyal and present companion since 2017, first as a therapy dog volunteer and then as an employee sharing an office with his co-worker, dog mom and handler, MUSC Therapy Dog Program Coordinator Cathy Bennett.

A trailblazing pup in Animal-Assisted Ther**eutic Intervention, Jaxson has dipped his paws in just about everything from outpatient OT/PT, the STAR Program, mental health groups and pediatric dentistry, including three clinical trials.

Thanks, Jax, for everything. We will miss you. 🐾 🐕‍🦺 ❤️

Designed specifically for employee and patient needs, this service offers an efficient way to navigate campus, especially during busy hours or inclement weather and ensures timely arrival to appointments.
