Hey, I have a message š©· if youāre using an AI logo for your business, you cannot legally own that logo.
That means, if someone wants to use the exact same logo as you, you canāt do anything about it. Theyāre allowed to use it.
I used to talk a lot about this with Canva logos, but youāre using something that is open source and free to the public and it cannot be copyrighted.
And business owner to business owner, thatās not a great foundation to put under your business.
Because yes, Iāve said it before and Iāll say it again.
Branding is the foundation of your business and its marketing. Itās what speaks to people before they even meet you or walk through your doors.
But thereās also something much deeper you need to hear.
Using an AI logo means you could risk losing your potential clientās or customerās trust.
Yes itās cheap. Yes itās quick. But it also shows people that you donāt invest in your business (either with your time or your money).
We can collectively change this as business owners - try to do it yourself, hire an intern to design it for you, or pay a professional who will help your brand make you money š

Can I tell you about a feeling I know way too well?āØ
Itās the one where someone asks for your website or Instagram handle, and instead of feeling excited to share it you kind of wince and say āoh itās still a work in progress.ā
Your business has grown and your work is better than ever but your brand is the same thrown together look from when you were just getting started.
(Yes, even though Iām a designer, I have still been in this place as a business owner)
I see this so often with talented, established women in business. Doing the work but showing up with a DIY logo and colors that they picked out because they just needed something.
The brand doesnāt match the business anymore, and deep down they know it.

Okay so you like your brand, but you know it just needs āØsomething elseāØ
Thatās exactly the position Vanessa was in with her home bakery .
Itās okay to like what youāve made in Canva (or even with AI) but ultimately you cannot legally own your branding if itās created with them.
Sometimes you need a little extra strategy, planning, and designing to make sure youāre set up for success š
So we took the elements she loved (the color and the whisk) and made it her very own, including a hand-drawn whisk and a color palette that was picked special for her business.
Iām so happy to finally share the rebrand š and thank you to Vanessa for trusting me with your vision š„° Iām a long time fan of her baked goods and getting to work with such a dear friend was a delight!

Stop š using link sharing apps. Hereās what you need to do instead:
go to your website
create a new page
add a header and buttons under it
add your top links to those buttons
make sure it looks good on mobile
hit publish
add the link to your bio
Yes, itās really that easy! Your SEO and your business leads will thank you š
Okay friends, itās time for an honest talk.
Iām really sick of seeing ai social media posts
And I know Iām not the only one
Weāve gone far beyond using ai to āhelpā and instead are fully leaning into letting it do the work for us.
Sure, this may save some time, but at what cost?
Iām not going to bring up the environmental impact, or mental impact AI is having on users - but I will bring up the impact it could be having on your business.
The novelty of AI has worn off and people (especially Gen Z) are less likely to purchase from businesses who rely heavily on AI.
The use of AI to make your marketing shows a lack of intention and care. Even if you arenāt creative, it shows you didnāt put effort into trying to do it yourself, getting help from a trusted friend, or hiring a professional.
So those AI generated social media posts? Could be turning valuable customers away.
