Over the past few weeks, the Mounds View Police Department has had the opportunity to participate in some incredible community events that highlight the power of connection, teamwork, and service.

We were proud to partner with IBall4life and The North Church for a community basketball event that brought people together through sports, mentorship, and positive interaction. Events like these provide a great opportunity for officers to build relationships with youth and families while having some fun on the court.

We also had the honor of participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. The Torch Run is a long-standing tradition that helps raise awareness and support for Special Olympics athletes, and we are grateful to stand alongside law enforcement agencies across the state in support of this amazing organization.

We truly appreciate everyone who participated, volunteered, and helped make these events a success. We are proud to serve a community that continually comes together to support one another!

Summer Safety Reminder ☀️

With more kids riding bikes, walking to parks, and enjoying time outside, we encourage everyone to slow down and stay alert in neighborhoods.

A little extra attention can make a big difference in keeping our community safe this summer.

⛳ MVPD officers recently participated in the 10th Annual Quincy House Golf Tournament in support of the important work being done by Quincy House.

Founded in 2015, Quincy House is dedicated to empowering teens to have hope for their future by providing unconditional love, guidance, mentorship, and a safe place to grow. The organization serves local youth through programs focused on life skills, education, relationship-building, and personal development, helping teens navigate challenges and build brighter futures.

The Mounds View Police Foundation was also proud to support the event by sponsoring a hole.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and contributed to this year's tournament in support of the youth and families served by Quincy House.

K9 Brandi especially enjoyed meeting everyone and soaking up all the attention—clearly, she was the star of the show! Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello. We love opportunities to connect with our community and be part of such a fun event

What happened this weekend in Mounds View?!? Below are some of the notable calls for service from this weekend.

SUNDAY: At about 8:14pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop on County Road I, for equipment violations on a truck and trailer. The officer learned the driver was in possession of a firearm. Subsequently, the driver was arrested because they were ineligible to possess a firearm and ammunition, and the serial number on the firearm had been obliterated.

At about 3:45am, an officer stopped a vehicle with no license plate for speeding on 35W. Upon the officer’s initial approach, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. The vehicle extinguished their lights, and the officer lost sight of the vehicle while attempting to catch up.

SATURDAY: At about 10:45pm, officers responded to an altercation between a husband and wife. The officers determined that an assault occurred. Subsequently, the husband was arrested for domestic assault.

At about 7:34pm, officers responded to the area of Groveland Rd and Mounds View Blvd for a male pacing back and forth, for about thirty minutes. The male admitted to consuming mushrooms and was transported voluntarily to a hospital.

At about 12:23pm, an officer took a mail theft report. The officer learned that someone stole money from a high school graduation card.

At about 1:19am, an officer conducted an investigation on a driver at the AmericInn. Subsequently, a female was arrested for DWI.

Throughout her career, Sgt. Dison has demonstrated outstanding dedication, professionalism, and leadership in serving our community. She has been a tremendous asset to the department, serving as our Toward Zero Deaths (TZD) liaison, assisting with training initiatives, and most recently earning a well-deserved promotion to Sergeant.

Beyond her many roles and responsibilities, Sgt. Dison is an exceptional supervisor, partner, and a true asset to both our department and the community we serve.
