Congratulations to Michael Jenkins on his promotion to Captain of Training for Bainbridge Public Safety!

Captain Jenkins' promotion reflects his years of dedicated service, leadership, and commitment to professional excellence. In his new role, he will oversee training and professional development for department personnel, lead the upcoming Fire Academy, mentor new recruits, and help strengthen operational readiness across the organization.

His experience and deep understanding of Bainbridge Public Safety’s unique public safety model make him an outstanding choice for this important leadership position.

Marion County firefighters just voted 327:5 in favor of the 24/72, 42 hour workweek. This is in addition to the $20,000 pay raise in contract 1.

As a resident, taxpayer and someone who cares deeply about the health of our first responders, this truly made my day.

These numbers reflect the truth that our firefighters value performance, longevity and time with their families.

The last step is a final vote by the county commisioners on June 2 and I'll be there to witness this monumental event.

I'll be their loudest recruiter once the ink is dry, to help attract the very best candidates to protect our community.
