Francisco Montes of Viva Tequis, Tequilas Mexican Grill # 2 and Tequilas Mooresville is my all time favorite Restaurateur! I met him before he opened his first restaurant, Tequilas #1 in downtown Gastonia. He later opened three more locations. Then a few years ago turned number one into a new experience called Viva Tequis (Long live Tequilas, I think his son came up with that name :) ). Although it's not vegan :( he has managed to make his places very vegan friendly to the point I always have to find my way there no matter how far out of the way it is. The food is always fresh and innovative. I've known him for over 20 years. His passion is delivering the best dinning experience possible. He and his beautiful, large family are some of my most dearest of all friends. Be sure to try it out if you haven't! Times were tough I imagine getting Viva Tequis up and going after having to shut down to completely remodel the building which took over a year! Then just as soon as they got momentum COVID put everything in a mess. But, they've hung in there and are doing great. Check out now and thank me later ! :)

Last night we went to Tequileros. The food was great. We got the Surf and Turf Chimi and Steak Fajita and Enchiladas Verdes with 2 Dr Pepper and 1 Coca Cola and 1 Cheese Dip. It was like omg. The waitress we had was Sayda. She was amazing. We will be going back and asking for Sayda if she working.

I know that last night was a lot of hard work. It's no small thing having to work through a take-out only Cinco de Mayo in the middle of a pandemic.
