Jeremy Doss will be looking for his second Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series Championship in 2022. Doss is fast everywhere he goes and will look for his third Irwindale Speedway win, but first in a Super Late Model. He has four top-five SLM finishes in five starts at the 1/2-mile oval. Qualifying is next for the driver of the Hamke Racecars Toyota owned by Bob Lyon.
Bischofberger Brings New Super Late Model to the “All-Star Showdown”

Bakersfield, CA - Jeff Bischofberger will return to the Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series on February 5th, in the $25,000-to-win “All-Star Showdown 200” at Irwindale Speedway. It is his first start since a season ending accident at The New Stockton 99 Speedway in the “JM Environmental Inc. Wild West Shootout Touch Too Much 227 presented by 51 FIFTY LTM”. Bischofberger calls Tracy, CA home, but he currently resides in Seal Beach, CA making Irwindale his home track. The former SRL winner at Stockton 99 Speedway will look to add another win to his resume in a new Hamke Racecars Super Late Model, prepared by JD Motorsports with Mike and Jeremy Doss.

Bischofberger is a winner in the Pacific Challenge Series as well as the ASA Truck Series. He has teamed up with JD Motorsports since 2015, when he scored his first series victory. He finished ninth in the series standings that season. In 2018 he competed in his only full-time season in the SRL finishing sixth in the series championship standings. He will make his 37th career start at the “All-Star Showdown”. At Irwindale, he has a best finish of second in 2019, finishing behind Preston Peltier in the 35-car field. He also has a fifth and eighth-place finish in his eight SRL starts at the ½-mile oval.

Since that 2018 season, Bischofberger has had limited starts in the series, with three in 2019, and four in 2021. He will be returning in a new Hamke Racecars Super Late Model as a result of Doss’ new relationship with the manufacturer. The return was somewhat of a surprise for Bischofberger, as he had taken time off for family purposes. Now he will return for some of the same reasons he took a break.

“We really haven’t raced much since 2018, and after crashing our new Senneker last year, things headed in the direction of sitting out and focusing on the family” Bischofberger announced. “A few things happened which changed that plan a few weeks ago. My pops had a few health issues over the last couple months, which reminded me how precious family life is and how being at the track is in fact part of focusing on the family. At the same time, Mike and Jeremy Doss worked with Cody Glick to put together a new Hamke, which Mike made available for me to drive. Mike really surprised me with the opportunity, and it couldn’t have happened at a better time.”

Bischofberger is very thankful for his opportunity to compete in the “All-Star Showdown”, and especially to Mike Doss and his brother Allen, who have helped with their time and energy preparing for the 5th, as well as his previous racing efforts. He is also looking forward to getting together with his friends and family.

“I can’t thank the Doss family enough”, Bischofberger expressed. “My entire family is looking forward to spending some time together at that track. I really want to thank my wife and brother Allen for always supporting this passion of ours, and making the sacrifices it requires. I look forward to seeing everybody next weekend!”

The “All-Star Showdown 200” will take place on February 5th at Irwindale Speedway. It will kick off the 22nd season for the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour and the second for the SPEARS Pro Late Models presented by Sigma Performance Services. The SPEARS Modified Series will take part in their second event of the season, after Jaron Giannini won the opener at Havasu 95 Speedway. The Super Late Models will race for $25,000-to-win. The Pro Late Models will compete for $10,000-to-win and the SPEARS Modified Series will shoot for $5,000.

Celebrating its twenty-second season in 2022, the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series is a regional stock car series competing on paved ovals in the southwestern portion of the U.S. “The SPEARS Southwest Tour Series…Where the Champions Race”.
Just wanted to thank all my sponsors. Without them, I would not be racing. Thanks to Ranier Racing Development Hamke Racecars is getting my new frame this week so I can make my first race at the CARS Tour 2022. It may not be a Bristol win, but we are looking for many wins in 2022. Bassett Racing Wheel will have my blue wheels ready and hopefully my suit will be ready. Looking forward to working with Tommy and Buggy.
Secrets out… super excited to be going back asphalt racing.

The All-Star Showdown is Next for Jeremy Doss and the Bob Lyon Team

Bakersfield, CA - Jeremy Doss will make his third start in the #44 Bob Lyon Super Late Model at the 3rd Annual “All-Star Showdown 200” on February 5th at Irwindale Speedway (CA). The 2018 Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series champion made his debut in the Hamke Racecars Super Late Model at the "October Classic" less than four months ago, finishing second. Doss qualified the car into the “Snowball Derby” for the fifth consecutive time, slotting into the #18 spot of the over 50 entries. An alternator failure ended his day early and left him 27th in the final rundown.

Doss will be one to watch as he has a lengthy resume of success. In addition to his SRL championship, he has nine wins in the series. He is a two-time champion in the Spears Modified Series and won the inaugural championship in the SPEARS Pro Late Model Series presented by Sigma Performance Services. He is the owner of two Pacific Challenge Series championships while also earning a championship in the Airport Auto Brokers Legends Series. Doss has event wins in the “Idaho 200” at Findlay Stadium Stateline Speedway (ID), the “Idaho 208” at Meridian Speedway (ID), and the $10,000-to-win Short Track Shootout at Madera Speedway (CA). He boasts multiple wins in the “Montana 200” at Montana Raceway Park (MT), and the “Senators Cup” at the LVMS Bullring and Dirt Track (NV), each paying $10,000 minimum.

The 2019 Kulwicki Driver Development Program champion scored victories in both the Pro Late Model and Modified events in last year’s All-Star Showdown, taking home $20,000 for those. He earned a $15,000 victory in the “Bischofberger Brawl 166” for the SPEARS Pro Late Models, to go along with another $7,600 win, also at The New Stockton 99 Speedway, in the Asparagus Cup 125”. With all his Pro Late Model and Modified success as of late, he has competed in only five SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series Super Late Model events over the last two seasons. But the Upper Lake, CA driver is ready to get back behind the wheel of the Bob Lyon Super Late Model. He is very thankful for the opportunity.

“I would really like to thank the Lyon family and my parents Mike & Denise Doss for this opportunity. I would also like to thank Cody Glick and Hamke Racecars as well as sponsors Alliance Rental Solutions, Shell Roofing Solutions, and Holders Air Conditioning & Heating.”

The “All-Star Showdown 200” will take place on February 5th at Irwindale Speedway. It will kick off the 22nd season for the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour and the second for the SPEARS Pro Late Models presented by Sigma Performance Services. The SPEARS Modifieds will take part in their second event of the season, after opening at Havasu 95 Speedway. The Super Late Models will race for $25,000-to-win, with the Pro Late Models competing for $10,000-to-win and the SPEARS Modified Series will shoot for $5,000. 44 Super Late Models appeared in 2021 with 38 Pro Late Models and 22 Modifieds answering the call.

JEXCO Motorsports Brings Two-Prong Attack to SRL All-Star Showdown at Irwindale Speedway

Bakersfield, CA - The JEXCO Motorsports team will be bringing two guns to the $25,000-to-win “All Star Showdown” at Irwindale Speedway on February 5th. Behind the wheel of those Hamke Racecars (formerly Rowdy Mfg.) Super Late Models will be Colorado National Speedway Super Late Model stars Jace Hansen and Mark Neff. The two friends, and now teammates, will both look to bring home the big paycheck to Colorado, while scoring the biggest victory of their careers, as the Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series kicks off its 22nd season of action.

Hansen will lead the effort as the full-time driver for the JEXCO Motorsports team, in the team’s newest 2021 Hamke Super Late Model. Hansen debuted the new car at the “October Classic” at Kern County Raceway Park, three months ago. He then drove it to a 16th-place finish in the 53rd Annual “Snowball Derby” at 5 Flags Speedway (FL), after winning the Last Chance Qualifying race. Hansen will make his second appearance at the “All-Star Showdown”, after finishing an impressive third in last year’s edition. Hansen battled inside the top-five for most of the event and ran as high as second before settling for the position behind Preston Peltier and Casey Roderick Motorsports. In 2022, Hansen hopes to repeat those results at one of his favorite tracks in the country.

“We are super anxious to get back to Irwindale”, Hansen exclaimed. “That place has always been my favorite track to race at, and the success we had last year definitely adds to our excitement to get back out there! I hope to be battling towards the front again this year!”

Neff will be behind the wheel of the same car that Hansen drove to a third-place effort in last year’s “All-Star Showdown”. It will be his first time back behind the wheel since April of 2021 when he finished 16th at Irwindale Speedway in a 29-car SRL field. It was the 32-year-old driver’s first start at the facility, and he will be looking to knock the rust off in one of the biggest races in the country in 2022.

“I am very excited to have my second attempt racing at Irwindale, and of course the added purse and the competition of the “All Star Showdown” just multiplies the excitement and pressure”, Neff stated. “When you think of the Crown Jewels on the West Coast, this event has to be amongst the top of the list. You will know you’ll have the best from the west, and I’m excited to see what talent comes from the east, as Casey Roderick did last year!”

Hansen is a two-time Super Late Model championship runner-up at Colorado National Speedway, and a six-time winner in Super Late Model action at the facility. He finished third in the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series Rookie-of-the-Year standings in 2019, and 11th overall, after missing one event due to the birth of his first-born daughter. 2020 saw the Greely, CO driver participate in a limited schedule, while waiting for their new Super Late Model from Hamke Racecars. The team had an impressive debut with the car, finishing second at the “October Classic” behind Derek Thorn Racing. It was one of only two starts that abbreviated season.

His 2021 efforts saw Hansen concentrating on the Bizzard Series events at 5 Flags Speedway, in preparation for the 53rd Annual Snowball Derby. Hansen finished tied for fifth in the Blizzard Series standings with 2018 SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series champion Jeremy Doss Motorsports. After a rough finish in his first start, Hansen clicked off four consecutive top-10 finishes. He also produced a seventh-place visit in a Southern Super Series visit to Montgomery Motor Speedway.

Hansen will now team up with crewman, friend, and competitor Mark Neff for the high paying event. It is a prospect that Hansen is thrilled to see occur, as he feels the combined effort will benefit both teams as he enters the 2022 campaign.

“Personally, I'm very excited to have Mark Neff as a teammate for this race”, Hansen described. “I've grown up racing with him and we have always had great battles on the track. The both of us work so well together. He has wrenched on our cars for well over a year now, and he knows his way around these cars quite well. I think it's going to be a great benefit to work off of each other throughout the weekend, and it will speed up the process of getting good balance and speed out of both race cars! Mark is one of my closest friends outside of racing cars, and we have been talking about and working on putting this together for quite some time. I’m super happy we were able to put the pieces together for what I think is one of the biggest races on the west coast!”

Neff participated in his first two SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series events in 2019, finishing eighth at both the LVMS Bullring and Dirt Track and the October Classic at Kern County Raceway. He was a regular competitor at Colorado National Speedway (CNS), but began to branch out in recent seasons. He had 25 career feature victories with three in the Super Late Models, after recently moving into the division. He was third in the 2018 CNS Super Late Model Standings, finishing a mere four points behind multi-time champion Darren Robertson. Neff was the 2015 Late Model, and 2013 Pro Truck Track Champion. He holds two Rookie-of-the-Year titles, one in the Pro Truck, and the other in the Super Late Model Division.

After a successful second-place finish in the 2020 “Chilly W***y 150” at Tucson Speedway., Neff is looking forward to another strong run at a facility that many feel is similar to Tucson. Like at Tucson, where Neff teamed up with D.J. Stewart, the Windsor, CO driver will have a teammate in Hansen. He is excited to have the opportunity to race with his long-time friend, whom he has had a relationship with for decades. He is also excited to partner with a team owner who has been a key factor in his past racing successes.

“I think most people understand the relationships I have with Jace Hansen and team owner Jim Egli", Neff began. “I’ve had the pleasure of previously racing with Jim for years in Colorado, where he helped me win my first two championships at Colorado National Speedway. So, we’ve always had great chemistry. Jim has spared no expense in building two immaculate Hamke racecars, with nothing but the best equipment for his program.”

Neff continued, “And Jace, well we’ve raced together for the better part of two decades. Our dads even raced together, so our story goes back even further than us. And that is not to mention we’re close friends off the racetrack as well. So, to say I’ve got another chance to race with him as my teammate, in such a high-powered program, I am not sure how it gets any better than that. To add, this program is staffed by great friends and family, which naturally causes everyone to perform the best they can, I think that is a recipe for a very strong finish with both cars at the Showdown!”

With this opportunity, Neff is excited to start the season on a high note. With success, it is not hard to imagine an additional chance to get behind the JEXCO Motorsports Super Late Model in 2022. But for now, he is thankful for the prospects he has for the “All Star Showdown”, racing with the families #42, as he acknowledged.

“I have to start by thanking Jim, Jace and the entire JEXCO program for allowing me this amazing opportunity. Not many people get the chance to get behind the wheel of this caliber of equipment. It’s also a testament to the type of people they are, for allowing me to run my dad and my #42 in honor of him. I’ve got to thank all the original MARK NEFF RACING crew for coming together for this special event as well. Thanks to my family, specifically my wife Lori, stepson Jayce, and my Mother-in-Law Cathy for helping me get here! A huge shoutout to our partners; Irene Smith-RE/Max Alliance, Hanger 1, and Toni at Xtreme Signs. Finally, I’m thankful for some of the relationships and knowledge I’ve gained this last year working with guys like Cody Glick and Brannon Earnest. I’m looking forward to using that information from behind the wheel!”

Likewise, Hansen is thankful for the opportunity to compete on February 5th with a new Super Late Model, at one of the showpiece facilities in the country. He hopes to get the team’s planned assault on the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series championship off to a good start, with a group that he shows great appreciation for.

“As always, I must thank Jim Egli and JEXCO Motorsports for these awesome opportunities to run these big shows with top-of-the-line equipment. I’d like to thank Daun Egli for dealing with all the guys and the late nights at the shop, with a husband that basically lives in the race shop! A big shoutout to my wife Taylor, daughter Teagyn as well as Mark Neff, Darrell Stewart Chase and Jack Gillespie, and Rich Allbee for all the help prepping the cars and busting a** at the racetrack! I would also like to send a special thank you to Glen Tilton and NAPA Auto Care Centers of Cheyenne, WY, for jumping on board and helping us out for this upcoming season!”

The All-Star Showdown will take place on February 5th at Irwindale Speedway. It will kick off the 22nd season for the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series and the second for the SPEARS Pro Late Models presented by Sigma Performance Services. The Spears Modified Series will take part in their second event of the season, after opening at Havasu 95 Speedway. The Super Late Models will race for $25,000-to-win, with the Pro Late Models competing for $10,000-to-win and the Modifieds will shoot for $5,000. 44 Super Late Models appeared in 2021 with 38 Pro Late Models and 22 Modifieds answering the call.
