We are so excited to welcome the beautiful and talented Jaimie Goodwin.

with our dancers. Shout out to Chandler Brown for a fun energetic hip hop routine.

We are excited to welcome back Lindsay Carper as our tumbling coach. This is her second year coaching at DU and 5th year in Mooresville. Before living in North Carolina, she was a gymnast for 16 years. Carper competed at the university of Minnesota for 4 years on their gymnastics team and she has a passion for bringing that knowledge to dancers doing acro. When she’s not coaching, she’s teaching at EMIS as a 6th grade math and science teacher. She’s excited to help grow these awesome dancers into awesome tumblers too!

We are so excited to welcome DU alumni, Brianna Shelton as a part of our staff this season. Brianna trained at DU for 15 years before attending UNC-Wilmington. Brianna has a passion for dance technique, strength and conditioning as well as a love for children. She has been actively involved with our STEPS program over the years and plans to get the program up and going again soon. Special Topmost Extraordinary Performers with Style is a community service for children in our area. Please help us welcome Brianna Shelton!

TEACHER BIOS: Chandler Brown 🤎

Chandler was born and raised in West Columbia, SC. He danced at The Southern Strutt in Irmo, SC for 15 years under the direction of Nancy Giles. While competing there, he worked with many choreographers that are currently working in the Industry such as Jaci Royal, Brooke Pierotti, Kirsten Russell, Shannon Mather, Martha Nichols, Jeremy Hudson, Justin Giles, and many more.

He now attends the University of Alabama as a Dance major with a minor in Business and teaches Hip Hop at Birmingham Dance Theatre in Hoover, AL. Chandler recently taught at Encore Extreme Convention in Columbia, SC in October of 2020 and worked as a backstage manager during Encore’s competition season in 2021. He has choreographed/performed in nine shows at the University of Alabama and various other locations in Alabama. While not in school Chandler travels the country teaching, choreographing, and cleaning competition dances at various studios and schools.

TEACHER BIOS: Sarah Lapointe 🕊

Sarah trained in various genres of dance from age 2 to 14 at Mid-Atlantic Center for the Performing Arts. She furthered training at Baltimore School for the Arts and The Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia, where she was offered a full scholarship to train under the direction of Bo and Stephanie Spassoff and graduated in 2015. She attended summer intensives with Bolshoi Ballet Academy and Chautauqua School of Dance, where she was awarded with the Artistic Director Award for Overall Excellence and Faculty Award for Technical Merit.

Sarah was also recognized as a National YoungArts Foundation Dance Finalist (Ballet, 2015) and received a nomination for U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts semi-finalist. She has been a guest artist with The Washington Ballet in the history breaking performance of Swan Lake featuring Misty Copeland and Brooklyn Mack.

At 18, she began her professional career with Charlotte Ballet. Sarah was recognized in 2017 as Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch.” During her professional dance career, she went on to continue her educational studies, and in 2020 graduated summa cm laude with honors from California Baptist University with a B.S in Kinesiology. As a company member of Charlotte Ballet, she has been featured in works by Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, Sasha Janes, Mark Diamond, George Balanchine, Jiří Kylián, Dwight Rhoden, Ohad Naharin, Alonzo King, Mark Godden, Javier de Frutos, Myles Thatcher, Filipe Portugal, Bryan Arias, Jerome Robbins, Medhi Walerski, Stephanie Martinez, Helen Pickett, and Christian Spuck.

What an honor it is to welcome Sarah to DU.

TEACHER BIOS: Carisa Rose Wilson 🌹

Carisa has studied & performed various dance techniques across the United States since the age of 3. She attended Appalachian State University where she received her BFA in dance and was the captain & choreographer for the dance team.

Following graduation, Carisa relocated to Dallas, Texas where she became a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader 💙 She appeared on CMT’s hit show “Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team.”

Carisa was selected for her dance ability to be apart of the DCC Show Group, which travels to preform in various countries. During her time as a cheerleader she performed with Selena Gomez, Kenny Chesney and One Republic. Additionally, she received an award for the choreography & performance of her solo at auditions.
