This week’s inspiration: Countertop as a Backsplash

”Using the same material for both the countertop and backsplash creates continuity across the surface. The space feels unified and intentional rather than segmented by different materials. Also, the integrated ledge isn’t just decorative, it adds practical storage space for small items like spices, cooking oils, or daily essentials. It keeps counters less cluttered while staying visually clean.”

Meet Jordan, one of the Project Managers at McAlister Construction, who helps to guide each home from blueprint to build. His days are spent on site with contractors while also managing schedules and materials behind the scenes.

Jordan currently works on our Tributary neighborhood in Edmond and is overseeing projects with Hope is Alive, including two men’s lodges soon to be completed.

He says Tributary stands out as a favorite, because each home’s unique style brings new challenges and keeps him on his toes.

What he enjoys most is seeing everything come together, turning plans into a finished home by solving each step along the way. Before McAlister, Jordan worked as a carpenter with his dad and brother, an experience that still shapes how he approaches every project!
