In celebration of their new Kendra Scott store opening in Harker Heights in April,* the manager has offered to host a fundraising event for Driving Hope of Texas on Saturday, April 9 from 1-3 PM. Driving Hope will receive 20% of anything purchased at the store during that period, and online as well (the offer is good April 9-10 online).
In store, mention Driving Hope of Texas. Online, use code:

What has this to do with mom? Mother’s Day is only a few days away—and she loves Kendra Scott, too.
See you there! (or online)

Introducing the Network of Hope - https://mailchi.mp/aa554241e4cd/update-on-the-launch-status-of-driving-hope-of-texas-11235535
Introducing the Network of Hope HOW YOU CAN HELP What better image of the church than that of a community of believers who support their neighbors in need? The Network needs pastors, LWML groups, and other church-based social ministry advocates to become part of the Network. By becoming a Network of Hope Ambassador, you can help...
Driving Hope is in need of a Temple-area driver (or Killeen area—see *note at the end) to take over for a driver who will be "retiring" (no pun intended) at the end of September.
The job pays, but it is not generally enough for anyone to live on by itself. We see it foremost as a ministry, so we are looking for the right kind of caring individual who wants to make a huge difference in people's lives while earning some cash.
One driver could take up to six days a week, on a route an average of 4-5 hours a day with many breaks of various durations. Alternatively, we would also entertain multiple drivers who just want to drive a couple of days a week or just a driver who is on call to fill in as needed.
They must have a relatively clean driving record and have a relatively clean background check. We pay for any and all training.
A Temple-based driver will help Driving Hope become more efficient and affordable for our riders. Most importantly, we want drivers who genuinely care about the medical and spiritual struggles of our riders.
Pass this post on to anyone who you think would enjoy this kind of ministry. They can email [email protected] to schedule a preliminary interview.
*Note: We could also work with a Killeen-based driver, and have our Belton-based van to serve mostly Temple.
Proud to say we have earned a GOLD STAR from Guidestar (fundraising, non-profit accountability organization).
Yelp thinks we're the best, but you already knew that.
"I don't want my mother driving herself to her appointments!" - https://mailchi.mp/d7982f1e920c/update-on-the-launch-status-of-driving-hope-of-texas-8307748
"I don't want my mother driving herself to her appointments!" In just the first half of 2021, Driving Hope has already provided almost a thousand** rides to dozens of patients in Central Texas. The duration of the ride can be a short as 15 minutes, but some rides are an hour or more. If we calculate an average of 20 minutes per ride, we project our drivers wil...

What if you asked your Facebook friends to donate a little of their stimulus money to Driving Hope?
We are looking to create a fund to maintain and replace our vans. Our first van will celebrate 200,00 miles this year, and our "newer" van already is near 120,000. From December through February (3 months), we put on 13,400 miles.
But it is really all about the riders. From September of last year through February of this year, we gave 1,275 trips to these patients.
Indeed, Driving Hope of Texas is making a difference in Central Texas. Help us keep our wheels on the road.
If you are currently blessed with a steady job and would like to make an impact on someone else’s life, please consider GIVE A RIDE through www.drivinghopetexas.org. I just donated part of my stimulus. For $25 you can ensure a patient will get to their medical appointment. Thank you, in advance, for your consideration!!! We couldn’t do it without you!!!

$25 will provide a ride for a patient in need. Don't make Tommy Lee mad.

Six Dialysis Patients in Urgent Need of Transportation If you know a dialysis patient, you know how vital it is that they receive their regular treatments. If they fail to do so, they seriously compromise their health. Many of them suffer from a loss of sight as a result of their disease. Some of them can endure the treatment only with the hope they wi...

Our demand in August averaged over 9 rides per day. It was time to add to our fleet.
Some exciting things are happening at Driving Hope of Texas. We recently purchased our 2nd van because of the influx of ride requests. Partly because of our new partnerships, but also because of your word of mouth.
We want to thank all of you that are spreading our mission to your communities as well as your generous donations. We are now able to serve twice as many people!
To donate a ride, please visit us at www.drivinghopetexas.org or click the donate button at the top of this page.
Thank you to everyone that has chosen Driving Hope of Texas as their birthday fundraiser! As a reminder, if you shop on Amazon, please use Amazon Smile and select Driving Hope of Texas as your charity. We get a kick back from it.

Heads up family, friends and neighbors! Because of the COVID 19 pandemic, Driving Hope of Texas had to cancel the benefit garage sale that we had planned to have in Killeen in April. Debbie Dean Hohle and I are going to try to sell all the donated items in a come-and-go style yard sale with all proceeds going to Driving Hope. We will space things out, encourage social distancing and masks. I will post more information later and perhaps a video of what is available. My intent is to have a few people out at a time starting Monday, on Memorial day and through the week. I will be on vacation so any time during the week would work. Please let me know when you are coming out to the farm, aka where we are living, aka Driving Hope's headquarters. Not sure yet when I will end it. We hope to still raise some money for Driving Hope with the donations we received. .org Oh, and if you would like to have a tour of the house we are building while you are here, I would love to show it to you!

WHAT IF...
What if you got a stimulus check from the government, but you are already income secure—in spite of the economic downturn in this time of pandemic? You can put that surplus money to good work by donating some of it to Driving Hope of Texas.
Faithfully and reliably, our van has continued to provide rides during the crisis, as our rider's medical conditions cannot be simply sheltered in place.
Even so, the ridership has dropped to the point that our fixed expenses of insurance, fuel, and driver costs have not been covered by our revenue.
If you are so blessed, consider a gift that will help us keep wheels on the road!

Thank you to everyone that chose Driving Hope this year as their birthday fundraiser. These rural Texans also appreciate your support so they can get to and from their medical appointments. This mission started out to help cancer warriors, but we found that other people need us too; such as dialysis patients, heart patients, and veterans. They rely on the generosity of folks like you! Happy New Year and many blessings!
