I am sorry, but I'm in Florida and not accepting clients at this time. I'm still involved in birth work and I will update this page if anything changes.

You are not laboring alone, your baby is working SO hard to tuck, rotate and fit through your pelvis! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣

One of the ways your body accommodates the baby is by the baby’s head “molding” through the pelvis - which just means that the head is “soft” and the skull bones literally overlap over each other to smush through the va**na! WHAAAATTTT. YES. Your baby is already capable of amazing things!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
If your baby’s head comes out elongated (some would call cone🍦head, technically it’s called caput succedaneum) or you see a ridge or bump at the top of the head past the forehead, no stress! That just shows you how hard your little one worked to make their way through! It should go away after 24-48 hrs although it can take couple weeks to be perfectly round! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Worried about it “fitting”? I have 2 videos to help! First, “My doc says I have a big baby” and my most recent, “Back Labor - Posterior Position” video to talk you through what to expect and help ease your fears! Check them out! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Did you see molding on your baby’s head? Did they have an elongated cone head? ⁣⁣

Healthy Birth Practice #4: Avoid Interventions Unless They Are Medically Necessary 02/02/2021

So important!

Healthy Birth Practice #4: Avoid Interventions Unless They Are Medically Necessary Maternity care in the United States is intervention intensive. The routine use of intravenous fluids, restrictions on eating and drinking, continuous electronic fetal monitoring, epidural analgesia, and augmentation of labor characterize most U.S. births. ...

Evidence on Doula support:

~Decreases overall C-section rate by 28%
~Decreases length of labor by 25%
~Decreases use of Synthetic Pitocin by 31%
~Only 8% request epidurals vs. 50% w/o Doula support
~Decreases need for forceps by 40%
~Decreases negative childbirth experience by 34%
~Helps partners participate with confidence
~Increases breastfeeding success
~Provides greater maternal satisfaction

One of the many benefits of delivering at a birth center is the amount of continuous support you receive throughout pregnancy and birth. Studies also show that having continuous support, such as a doula, greatly increase levels of satisfaction with your birth experience. And we allow doulas, unlike many area hospitals! Did you have a doula at your birth?

I'm so excited to share that I'm now a certified Spinning Babies ® Doula!

I've been passionate about the program for years, and have done a lot of self-study of the program as well as put it into practice.

The Spinning Babies program can help increase your chances of a birth without medical interventions, shorten your labor, decrease pain in pregnancy and birth, and reduce complications for you and your baby.

Feel free to contact me for more information.

This is a tragedy, it's your body, your baby, and your birth, your providers work for you, not the other way around. You call the shots and should be respected throughout the whole process. A doula can help you find confidence in yourself and your choices. Statistics show that having a doula leads to less interventions and more satisfaction with your birth.

I have been supporting parents through pregnancy, breastfeeding, and the postpartum period for some time now. I've done a lot of self-study regarding birth, breastfeeding, and motherhood both in my own professional study, and in my own journey through motherhood. I've been working through a doula certification program, and should be completing it soon. My rates will reflect my level of experience. As of right now, the rates are discounted based upon that factor, and each individual's circumstances. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have; I'm happy to help in any way I can. I look forward to hearing from you!💖
