The Mobile County NAACP Freedom Fund Awards Program is more than an annual gathering. It is a reflection of the people, leaders, advocates and community builders whose work continues to shape Mobile, Alabama.

And this year, UpLift Mobile is helping tell that story.

UpLift Mobile is proud to join the Mobile County, Alabama NAACP as a Legacy Sponsor and Official Media Partner for the 2026 Freedom Fund Awards Program.

This partnership goes beyond sponsorship. In the weeks leading to the Freedom Fund Awards Program, UpLift Mobile will help document the people, service, history and community voices surrounding one of Mobile Countyโ€™s longstanding civic gatherings.

Great Day Latte hosted its second Civics & Conversation event, bringing community members together for a closer look at the 2026 Alabama ballot and what voters can expect on Election Day.

Facilitator and community organizer Reggie Weaver walked attendees through statewide offices, proposed constitutional amendments, local ballot measures, and key voting deadlines.

Among the topics discussed:

๐Ÿ“Œ Proposed Statewide Constitutional Amendments
๐Ÿ“Œ Local property tax exemption proposal for eligible seniors

๐Ÿ“Œ Voter registration and absentee ballot deadlines
๐Ÿ“Œ How to verify your voting information and polling location

Voters were also encouraged to use official election resources to verify registration status, polling locations, candidates and voting requirements.

At the District 4 Community Meeting, residents put city leaders on the spot and raised concerns affecting neighborhoods across Mobile.
