Thin, crispy on the edges, with some softness on the inside. Made from a coconut milk + turmeric batter with toppings of your choice 😋 sweet and savory in every bite!
A little fun 🤩 I wanted to show you all one of my favorite Vietnamese dish - Banh Xeo - also known as Vietnamese pancakes or crepes. They are thin, crispy, and has some softness & fluff in the center. Made with a turmeric & coconut milk batter & cooked with scallions, bean sprouts and protein of your choice (most common: shrimp & pork belly). Wrap them in lettuce & herbs and dip in some good ole nuoc mam! Giving you a sweet and savory bite! 😋

My series is complete.
Watercolor has always been a challenging medium for me because I lack the patience to deal with it. However, I am proud of myself for trying again & getting through not just one piece but three!
I hope you all enjoyed watching my process and seeing the end results as much as I did. I will be finding a better way to record my content for you all soon ☺️

Pyramid Sticky Rice Cakes w/ pork & mung bean, wrapped in banana or bamboo leaves.
These are a popular year round treat & a staple during Lunar New Year🧧🐉
My mom loves eating them & when given the chance, she’ll buy 4-5 at a time. She tells us all the time that eating these reminds her of home 🇻🇳
3/3 of my series 🐲 my mom loves eating these - bánh ú (also known as Sticky Rice cakes with pork & mung bean) it’s a treat that can be enjoyed year-round & is a staple during Lunar New Year.

Ladle spoons and chopsticks 🥄🥢
These are essential items in every Asian household. Without these, we literally cannot function 😂
I use to always tussle with my sisters to get the prettiest spoon to eat with my pho. But now that I am a grown adult, I get to buy my own spoons ☺️
2/3 of my series 🐲 in every household, you’ll find soup spoons like these & of course chopsticks! I remember I use to tussle with my sisters to get the prettiest soup spoon just to eat my pho 😂 but now that I’m an adult, I can buy my own pretty soup spoons.

I am Vietnamese American & proud 🇻🇳❤️ visiting the motherland has always been a dream of mine & the day I’m sitting on one of these stools in a busy street market while drinking my cafe sua da, will be the day I know I made it.
